Not an hour, day or a month
sometimes I wonder why a week
would be set aside for friendship
when most of mine are a lifetime?

I'd wish for 'Happy Friendship'
to be forever at least a year at a time
so I could get to know more of you.

Enough have trouble on elevators
let alone walking down the street
in the workplace the laws forbid
even kindness less it be taken wrong.

So I guess we'll settle for one week
of 'Happy Friendship' and treasure
one moment at a time each day
or else we might never really know;

If friendship is a facade or real intent
while to some the definition remains
a mystery, to my friends it is simple,
it means 'I love you' now and forever.

Thus it is so we wish to each and everyone
this week to appreciate another's attention
