What does it take to ask
for what another needs
to be lifted beyond the mortal
and see others who need
what talents we have
to offer them just now.

So as I gently call upon my Father
to help lift my sisters and brothers
is it too much to ask for others also;
to have all who attend church this day
to offer up a prayer of encouragement
for others who've not as much as they?

I've pondered long the process of life
and now in regret wish more often
to have done this simple deed
of praying for others needs
and then thought my actions
make some of it come about.

For Sunday is the day for this
to visit, to lift up, to hold a hand
old and whithered by time and work
for on other days we've much to do
but Sunday we should only have
His work to do and that would be
to give and pray both for others
the encouragement of another day
asking for the blessings they need
when in this life now struggling.
