"You Were a Stranger"

C.J. Ingerson
12/18/98

Verse 1

Yet somehow you were not
we'd met before, long ago
and maybe we'd just forgot
that we would meet and know.

Verse 2
********

For how can you be a stranger
if long ago we were both friends
fighting in the war full of danger
wrought with battles without ends.

Verse 3
********

Now we've met again and do not
remember about those times then
we pass sometimes and never stop
others we with eyes a message send.

Verse 4
********

Mostly we walk looking not with eyes
trying to be invisible to those around
making it impossible to renew old ties
and friends we've known are never found.

Verse 5
********

You were a stranger, I've found you now
we talk to get aquatinted again to see
to remember the somewhere somehow
from where we came how it used to be.

Verse 6
********

This is the place we chose to come to
to get a body and to obey Fathers law
so we are sisters and brother to be true
friends, not strangers if we heed His call.
