"I've Often Thought of Another Time and Day"

cji
4/6/99

Verse 1
********

How can one know something
they've only heard and never seen?
Yet was it almost 2,000 years ago
we too were at the manger scene;
singing the hymns of praise above
for the birth of the Savior to see?

Verse 2
********

For in April as now we know it,
was the time of year for those
to return to have a census;
in their land of birth and thus
though historians and learned men
know this some will not give in.

Verse 3
********

You see it was in the Spring both
when the Savior was born and died;
but it is okay for all to show or believe
they were separate events that don't
coincide with each other for another,
and December and April are find.

Verse 4
********

Gone was the day and into the night
we were waiting till our cue was given.
Then when the baby Jesus was born
this day we raised our voices to heaven.
Eternal love to ring forever on this birth;
and Mary and Joseph did wonder both.

Verse 5
********

Yet it was almost thirty-three years later
we again were called upon in the Spring.
You see this Savior our Elder brother Jesus,
both born and died on nearly the same day.
Was on the the third day to arise again;
for us to raise our voices in hymns of prayer.

Verse 6
********

Then for centuries we were quiet at work
and help and teach to train and learn.
We were each awaiting our turn until again
on April 6th, we were called again to sing.
Yes and raise our voices in mighty hymns,
for the fulfillment of the works of others.

Verse 7
********

Thus the last dispensation we were allowed
to help usher in so all of the martyr's blood;
would not have been shed in vain for us.
This was the day of the organization in law
that the Church of Jesus Christ was restored
to the earth once more for the final time.

Verse 8
********

Luther, Calvin, Williams, Wycliff, Hess;
had all seen the preparations for this day;
Jefferson and John Adams spoke of it too.
How un-noticed the scriptures had spoken
of it often and true, but not always taught
today in Sunday Schools; of keys and authority.

Verse 9
********

Yes history is replete with the events of this day;
in the annuals of time and space there in no date,
more important in all mankind than April 6th.
Yet few know or care to learn or feel concern;
for to most it is just another day with them,
while in ignorance of it most of the world lives.

Verse 10
********

Think as you may but history will prove it out.
That what we call this day is the most special;
but don't worry most will not care to think,
or try to learn for others it is the task to know.
So as you remember the date of April 6th today,
for some now it is already a yesterday forgotten.
