They come with a rustling
to awaken me to a need
for someone somewhere
is calling for assistance
or for my help indeed.

I kneel to pray to understand
the tuning of my being
to think the thoughts
another thinks just now
to be the friend they need.

For when the angels come to me
it is not too fool or play around;
(as with children they enjoy
and often keep company with)
it is for another which they come.

Thus to see them is not important
but too recognize the need
and to place upon the armor
to represent the Lord I serve;
thus again to remember it is for Him.

It is a wonder to me that still He comes
and calls on one such as me when
there are so many others worthy
to call and serve and need the time
in the field of battle to learn a role.

Yet still it is nice to be needed
even once in a while and those
who I help sometimes don't mind
an old rusty knight it is who comes
but I'm sure they wonder about it.

So when the angels appear to me
I welcome their comfort and strength
that once again awakens me;
once more to go forth to work
in the garden of my Master.

Thus you know how much I love
my Heavenly Father and to serve
when He now has a need of me;
and sends these special messengers
with their rustling to whisper to me.
