Parris Island

23-25 Jan 2002
Cadets from HCHS got the opportunity to experience a first-hand look of U.S. Marine Boot Camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, for three straight days. Upon arrival at the recruiting building, cadets were instructed to run off the bus and stand on the infamous yellow feet formation on the road where many past Marines have stood. Cadets were then taught how to make their racks (and in a hurry!). The next day cadets got to go through the gas chamber and a simulated munitions training with M-16s. After watching Marines in training, cadets returned home.
