Clouds.....by: Alan R. Robinson
Clouds
Clouds fluffy
Floating
Smiling and happy
Bringing dreams
Dreams to a warm afternoon
In a field
Alone
Or with a friend
That special someone
Just watching the clouds
Whiling away a lazy afternoon
Clouds darkening
Bringing wind
Bringing rain
Storms on a rainy day
Back inside
Alone
Or with a friend
That special someone
Till the rain has come to an end
Clouds soft
Light
Wispering
Wispering for you to join them
On a sun-shiny day
Warm air
Sun
Lazy days
Whiling away the afternoon
Watch them go
Moving
Smiling
Announcing natures beauty
Clouds captivating
Wisper
Smile
Capture
Capture our gaze on a lazy day

A Birds Song.....by Alan R. Robinson
Chirp.....
A bird speaks
Speaks to me in the daylight
Whistling
Singing
Chirping
I wonder what he's trying to say
Could he be saying hello
Or quoting shakespear
Or perhaps scriptures
Hard to say
I don't speak bird talk
And don't listen very close
Not close enough
Not enough to hear what he's trying to say
Chirp.....
There he goes again
Is he introducing himself
Or warning me to stay away
Maybe quoting the word of God
In a voice
A voice only God would understand
Wonderment
Questions
I ask him what he said
He just looks at me
Eyes never moving
Chirp.....
Could he be laughing
A joyous kind of laugh
Because he can fly
Soaring
Riding the wind
And I have to stay on the ground
I wonder if that's it
It's a mystery
As he flies away
I wave good bye
Chirp.....
Says he once more
I thank him for his wisdom
And for making me pause for thought
Pondering
Musing
I thank him for enlightning my day

Rain.....by: Alan R. Robinson
Ping.....ping
It's going to rain today
Drops are falling
Slowly at first
Steady
It's on the way
Picking up now
Water from the heavens
From the clouds
The sky opening
Winds blow
Was that thunder?
A storm
Perhaps we should close the window
We'll wait and see
Lightning flashes
Thunder now rolls
Drip.....drip
It's coming hard now
Getting harder to see
CRASH!!!
The power is out
No lights
No phone
Peace at last
Listen to the rain
Dripping from the house
The trees
The sky
Puddling in the yard
It's getting slower now
The thunder has gone
Lightning stopped
Just a steady drizzle
Power's on again
Everything is ok
A coolness hangs in the air
Ping.....ping
The rain has stopped now
Winds gone
Time for bed
Wonder if it'll rain tomorrow

That's What Friends Are For.....
by: Alan R. Robinson
Who makes you smile
Laugh
Giggle
And grin
That's what friends are for
Who makes you go that extra step
In life
In a day
That extra mile
That's what friends are for
Who wipes those tears
Of sadness
Of anger
Turns frowns upside down
That's what friends are for
Who shouts for joy when good comes to you
Dances with glee
Smiling
Always very proud
That's what friends are for
Who hugs you tight when things aren't so good
Holding close
When no one else will
Wispering
Telling you things will be alright
That's what friends are for
Who's there for you night and day
When the world leaves you flat
Empty
To pick you up
Hey.....that's what friends are for
That's what friends are for

Oceans of Time.....by: Alan R. Robinson
Flowing everpresent through the currents of our minds
Oceans of feeling,oceans of time
Like the powerful waves of joy to find
The waters of our memories can cause feelings sublime
Like the endless journeys that sailors have taken upon the seas
Our lives criss cross time endlessly
Sometimes floating high above, proud and free
Other times sinking into dispair needlessly
To compare our lives with the mighty ocean
And how we flow along our way
May be just a thought or an almost forgotten notion
Or it could be the truth.....it's hard to say
In life we go along and do the things we do
So does the ocean, only it never sleeps
It has good days and bad just as we,it's true
It's storms are like our troubled times when anger into it creeps
So if you feel as if life has passed you by
And your troubles seem to have no end in sight
Just think "I am the ocean" and use this as your battle cry
Jump in feet first and wade back into the fight

Flowers.....by: Alan R. Robinson
Flowers
Growing
Shining
Shining with a beauty
A beauty all their own
Flowers
Blooming
Inspiring
Inspiring us to admire
And take a second look
Flowers
Wonderful
Thorny
Like the beautiful rose
Protecting its beauty
Look but don't touch
Flowers wilting
Failing
In the colder days
In the winter and fall
Flowers reborn
Returning
In the warmer days of spring
Life renewed
Happiness has returned
Flowers
Imitating life
Mirroring
Reflecting
A little of ourselves
When we're young we bloom
And later wilt
Sometimes to be born again
Flowers
Love
Joy
Show us to be happy
Even in life's worrisome days

A Moonlight Serenade.....by: Alan R. Robinson
Like a scene repeated a million times
On a snowy hill silhoutted in moonlight
A single wolf stands alone searching for signs
All potential prey, nervously awaiting, prepare to take flight
On this night, food's not the driving force
That causes this creatures heart to roam
Like the inherent notions that set his course
He stalks intruders in his territorial home
He raises his head to view the moon
And pierces the night with a howl deep and long
He knows that daylight and time to sleep is coming soon
Time to stop the hunt and end his mournful song
Suddenly an answer to his howl is voiced
From just beyond the canyons end
He looks with a start, his heart rejoiced
A female voice is in the wind
So a year later the scene is repeated for the millionth time
On a snowy hill silhoutted in moonlight
Two wolves stand together searching for signs
With pups to teach to hunt without the light

This was one of my first poems, and still one of my favorites.
Seasons.....by: Alan R. Robinson
Seasons come and go as they please
Riding in and out on gentle breeze
Whether it's blooming flowers or falling leaves
Each season can set your mind at ease
Spring is always first in line
It brings the flowers as a sign
That winter is gone for a time
And that someone special comes to mind
Then summer days are hot and long
Filled with good times, friends and song
It makes you feel as if nothings wrong
And you think "this is where I belong"
Then come the changes in the fall
It's time to heed natures call
Prepare you well,prepare you all
Every creature,great and small
Then winter comes with all its might
With icy winds too cold to fight
A fires warm and flickering light
Wrapped up with the one you love so tight
