Thelma and the Gizbot had been in the engine room working on the engines for awhile, and not been successful. The kids had been in bed for about an hour now. The stars on the screen flashed by at blinding speed. In front of the window, Seth Goddard and TJ Davenport were really getting a break from the day.
TJ sighed, and looked up at the celing, while Seth continued to kiss her neck. She finally moved her head back down and started lip locking again. She was surprised at this sudden action. Sure, she had made the pass at him, but she didn't really expect for him to catch so quickly, but she decided not to complain.
After a little while, he backed away. TJ stood there, looking at him ackwardly.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"I don't know. What if we wake the kids up, or Thelma comes in, or something like that. We'd both lose our jobs if word got around." He told her.
"Oh, nonsense. Thelma and Gizbot could never even learn how to look at an engine from the right position. The kids were so tired, because I worked them to death. Trust me Seth, I had this planned. Nothing could screw it up." She told him in a very seductive voice. She pulled him closer and they continued.
After about five minutes, he pulled away again.
"Ahh. Look at the time." He yawned. "We will have a hard time staying on our toes tomarrow. Lets go to bed." He told her. She smiled mischeviously. She really didn't want to give him up that easily.
"That's even better than standing here." She whispered.
"No!" Seth shot, very quickly. TJ looked at him. She looked very hurt by that comment. "No, I'm sorry. I just really am sleepy." He told her, kissing her and walking off. She stood there for awhile, just wondering. What had happened. How could that wonderful feeling that someone really, really did love her disappear with the sliding doors. She was almost ready to cry by the time she got back to her bunk.

The next day drug on, long and boring. TJ felt terrible all day, and desperatly wanted a private conversation with Seth. She knew that something was up. Seth wasn't known to hurt the feelings of women, or use them. Heck, he even refused to sleep with her the night before. What was wrong with him? She just had to find out.
Although she tried, she couldn't find time all day to talk to him. Suzee and Harlan had been fighting over some report that they were assigned to do as partners; Suzee and Cat were fighting over who Harlan liked better; Radu and Harlan were fighting over Suzee; Rosie and Bova were complaining because of the others attitude; Thelma just walked around and made things worse, trying to fix them, and TJ had to put up with all of this during class. It was odd how the kids calmed down and forgot all of their problems during command post training. Was her class really that boring?
Well, TJ didn't get a chance to talk to him that morning, but that night, she went in her room, but on a short blue gown, fixed her hair, and she made her way into Seth's room.
He was sleeping like a baby on his bed. He had a pen still in his hand, and a peice of paper on his chest. He was asleep. She knew that it was being nosy, and that she'd probably regret it, but she still lifted up the note. She read it.
Dear Kimberly,
Hey Kimmy. How are things at home? I am ok. You asked about my crew in the last letter. Well, there is Harlan, Bova, Rosie, Catalina, and Radu (whom your friend Becca has told you about) and then there is Suzee, who was Catalina's supposdidly imaginary friend, Thelma, who is a crazy robot. And then there is TJ. I really like her. I guess you could say that I love her.
Well Kimmy, I wish that I could see you. Mabe your mom will let me someday. I really hope so. I love you with all my heart. Be good now!
Love,
Daddy
TJ looked at the note puzzled. She appreciated his comment about her, but the suspence on who exactly Kimberly was was killing her. She just had to ask.
She sat down on the bed, beside him, and shook Seth gently. She put her hand on his thigh.
"Seth." She whispered. He stirred a bit. Finally he woke up.
