[Report by UltimoWrestling's Jeff Jacobson]
• Chyna defeated Mr. Ass, to let Chyna retain her Intercontinental Title shot.
- Jeff Jarrett and Debra came down to ringside to do color commentary for the match, since Jarrett would meet the winner at the 9/26 Unforgiven PPV. Chyna dominated with punches and kicks generally. Ass, who was attempting to get over as a face since Chyna was the heel, fought back and eventually hit Chyna with the Famouser. A pin couldn't be made however, since referee Jimmy Corderez was knocked out. Heavyweight Champion, Triple H then ran-in and nailed Ass with the Pedigree. He rolled Chyna on top of Ass for the pin. Ass was furious after the bout.
• Big Show Interview.
- The Big Show came out to his original music and called out The Undertaker. Paul Bearer came out instead and ran down Big Show, saying he was nothing compared to The Undertaker. Big Show began to choke Bearer. The Undertaker then made his way to the ring. Bearer was hurt. The Undertaker whispered a message into Big Show's ear and told him if he ever disrespected him again, he would pay and get his ass kicked. Big Show shook his head and left with The Undertaker, while Bearer had to be helped to the back by WWF officials.
• Backstage, a black limousine pulled up into the parking lot of the arena.
• Mankind Interview.
- Mankind talked about how embarassing it was to lose to Shane McMahon. He also mentioned how he was happy to be "The People's Partner." He started using The Rock's lines when The Rock came out and told Mankind to never use his lines again. The Rock and Mankind complimented each other in a way where they made it clear that their bond was out of respect rather then friendship. Shane, Triple H, and Chyna made their ways out. Shane discussed the Unforgiven PPV, saying Triple H had no one to wrestle for the Heavyweight Title. He said The Rock and Mankind would fight later in the show in a match where the winner would get a title shot at Unforgiven. If The Rock and Mankind didn't except the match, they would both be suspended from the WWF for sixty days. The Rock and Mankind had no choice but to agree. Shane said that he had to be fair and would have Triple H defend the title against a "bald-headed S.O.B." Triple H and Shane argued as the segment came to a close.
• Ring announcer Tony Chimel was about to announce the next match when Howard Finkel came down to ringside and challenged him to a Tuxedo Match where the winner would be the announcer for Smackdown. Chimel didn't except, but The Fink attacked him anyway. Chris Jericho was seen laughing at Fink in the backstage area, while Chimel quickly pulled Finkel's tuxedo off. Fink ran to the back.
• Backstage, Ken Shamrock was shown entering the arena.
• Backstage, Chris Jericho and Howard Finkel were talking. Jericho suggested to Finkel that the WWF should advertise a "Y2Jockey" type of underwear, which he (Jericho) would model.
• The confrontation between The Big Bossman and Al Snow was shown from Bossman's hotel. Bossman served Snow food, while he was waiting for Pepper, but it turned out the food was Pepper, which meant Bossman had obviously killed him. After all was said and done, Bossman attacked Snow with his nighstick and brutalized him all over the hotel room.
• Backstage, Ken Shamrock was seen having a fit in his quest to find Chris Jericho.
• Triple H (w/Chyna) defeated Gillberg with the Pedigree, to retain The Heavyweight Title.
- Shane McMahon came down to ringside and announced Gillberg as the number one contender and the bald-headed S.O.B. Gillberg came back, as Tony Garea knocked on his locker room and he had fireworks go off on the rampway. The match was very short. Gillberg hit two spears on Triple H, and went for a third one, but hit the ringpost after Triple H moved. Triple H quickly capitalized with the Pedigree for the victory. After the match, Triple H went after Gillberg's knee with chairshots.
• A black limousine was shown in the parking lot.
• Backstage, Ken Shamrock was seen in the bathroom looking for Chris Jericho.
• Mankind and The Rock went to a No-Contest.
- Shane McMahon came out before the match began and appointed himself as the Guest Referee. The Rock and Mankind went all over the ringside area, as Shane smiled when seeing the two brutalize each other. Although Shane originally kicked Triple H and Chyna out of ringside area, they came down to the ring and attacked both The Rock and Mankind. The Rock or Mankind wouldn't be going to Unforgiven for a Heavyweight Title shot, at least at this point.
• Ken Shamrock was seen in the Women's bathroom frantically looking for Chris Jericho.
• Backstage, Lilian Garcia interviewed Shane McMahon. Shane talked about the match that just took place between The Rock and Mankind. He said the fans deserved to have a winner, so he would make it up to Mankind and The Rock later in the show.
• Ken Shamrock defeated Val Venis by making him submit to the Ankle Lock.
- Ken Shamrock completely dominated Val Venis, who eventually couldn't withstand the pain and tapped out to the Ankle Lock. After the match, Steve Blackman came down to ringside with nunchuckas and tried to attack Shamrock, but Shamrock whacked him with the weapon. The Y2J countdown went off. Chris Jericho appeared near the rampway and told Shamrock that if he wanted to be a real man, he would fight him in the parking lot. Blackman then attacked Venis in the ring, while Shamrock went to the parking lot for Jericho. Shamrock nailed Jericho in the back, but it was actually Howard Finkel dressed in a silver shirt and a blonde wig. The real Jericho came from behind and nailed Shamrock with a snow shovel, knocking him out, which led Jericho to say, "Oh My God, I Killed Kenny!" Jericho then picked up Finkel and tossed him in the
trunk of his car. They drove away.
• Shane McMahon, Triple H, Chyna Interview.
- The three came out to a loud chorus of boos. Shane McMahon said he is going to referee a rematch between The Rock and Mankind, with Triple H and Chyna barred from ringside. Test's music hit and to a large pop. He introduced Linda and Stephanie McMahon. Linda talked about her husband not being with the company anymore and praised Test. She said the match Shane scheduled would not happen, and instead, The Rock and Mankind would take Triple H and Shane McMahon, to the shock of both. Shane announced the Tag Team Titles would beon the line, though.
• Tag Team Turmoil-Number One Contenders Match went to a No-Contest.
- The first two teams were Hardcore and Crash and Mideon and Viscera. They wrestled for a bit, when Viscera accidently nailed Mideon to let Hardcore make the pin. Droz and Prince Albert were next. After some great tag team maneuvers, Crash pinned Droz to a fairly large pop. The next tag team was The Hardy Boyz. They wrestled a quick, fast paced match with The Holly's. Eventually, Matt Hardy did a fantastic top rope maneuver to pin Crash. The Acolytes came in and quickly took care of The Hardy Boyz with Bradshaw's Clothesline from Hell. Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie came in and put up a tough fight for Faarooq and Bradshaw, but eventually Richards got pinned after a Dominator by Faarooq. Last, Edge and Christian came to the ring to a huge pop and just as the match was getting underway, The Dudley Boyz came to the ring and attacked both teams with 2x4's.
• Backstage, Lilian Garcia interviewed The Dudley Boyz. Bubba Ray and D-Von both taunted the other tag teams. D-Von talked about the three commandments: "Thou Shall Not Steal," "Thou Shall Not Kill," and "Though Shall Not Mess with The Dudley Boyz."
• The Rock and Mankind defeated Triple H and Shane McMahon (w/Chyna) with The Rock's People's Elbow, to retain the Tag Team Titles.
- At first Mankind was double-teamed by the challengers, but The Rock soon made his entrance and fought off the heels with Mankind. Triple H and Shane McMahon took the advantage when Chyna low-blowed Mankind. They worked on him with double-teams in the corner. The crowd was hot. The Rock was tagged in and went after Triple H, while Mankind took Shane all over the ringside floor. Triple H got the upperhand again. Mr. Ass then ran-in and hit the Famouser on Triple H, which set The Rock up to finish things off with the People's Elbow.
