• WWF referees were shown walking around the Thomas and Mack Center on strike, complaining about getting abused by the wrestlers during their matches.

• Stone Cold Steve Austin Interview.
- Stone Cold Steve Austin said that even though he was disqualified on Raw is War in his Heavyweight Title match, he was not through with Triple H by a long shot. He said that at Summerslam, Triple H didn't get the job done and as long as he was alive, he (Austin) would hunt Triple H down and open up a can of whoop-ass. He said that later in the night, Triple H could do it the easy way or the hard way. The easy way would be to give him (Austin) a No Holds Barred-Heavyweight Title match, with the hard way being for Austin to carry out Triple H's body in a body bag. Triple H came out near the entrance-way with some police officers. He said that Austin wasn't getting jack, since he blew his opportunity the previous Monday. Triple H told Austin to kiss his ass. A lot of "Asshole" chants started. Triple H then insulted the crowd and said that they could kiss his ass as well. He said that he would defend the title later in the show against another main event competitor -- someone who Austin shared the ring with before. Austin said that Triple H would be followed all night by him and that Austin 3:16 would be up hiss as. Austin finished off the interview with his "Cause Stone Cold Said So" line.

• Shane McMahon defeated Joey Abs (w/Terri Runnels, Rodney, Pete Gas) with a Corkscrew Plancha.
- Shane McMahon came out while Cindy Margolis was shown in the crowd. He called Joey Abs out to challenge him. Abs came out with Rodney, Pete Gas, and Terri Runnels. Shane immediately nailed all of The Mean Street Posse members with a plancha over the top rope. Shane then nailed Abs with a top rope elbow drop. Gas and Rodney then ran into the ring and attacked Shane. Gerald Brisco ran in to referee in a referee suit, but as he was about to count Abs down later on, Gas pulled him out of the ring. Rodney then ran into the ring, but Abs accidentally nailed him, while Shane nailed Abs with a low blow. Pat Patterson then ran in from the back to referee, but Rodney pulled him out as he was administrating the count. Finally, as Shane nailed a corkscrew plancha, Sean Stasiak (formerly known as Meat) ran in from the back and counted Abs down for the 1-2-3. After the match, Stephanie McMahon ran into the ring and hugged her brother, Shane, while Test looked on in happiness from the entrance-way.

• Backstage, Ivory made her way toward the ring.

• Ivory Interview.
- Ivory asked Cindy Margolis, who was at ringside, to come in since she was her favorite star. She said she was glad to meet Cindy and that she was beautiful. Ivory then talked about Cindy's website (CindyMargolis.com) and her recent special appearances in movies and the media. She asked Cindy to strike one of her poses in the ring for the fans, but Cindy declined and was about to leave. However, Ivory quickly grabbed Cindy's arm, spun her around, and said that if she didn't lay down, she would make her. She also called Cindy a bitch. Jeff Jarrett then ran in from the back and put Cindy in the Figure-Four Leglock. He then did the same to Ivory and left.

• Backstage, Triple H was interviewed. He said that his opponent would not be Stone Cold Steve Austin, but rather someone else.

• Mark Henry defeated Steve Blackman via Pinfall, to retain the European Title.
- Tony Garea was the referee of this contest. As the two-minute match progressed, Val Venis ran out and nailed Steve Blackman from behind with a kendo stick. Mark Henry followed up with the pin. After Henry won, D-Lo Brown ran in from the back and nailed him with the Sky High.

• Backstage, Cindy Margolis was placed in an ambulance, as Jeff Jarrett looked on. Test popped out by the ambulance and brawled with Jarrett.

• Backstage, Jeff Jarrett was interviewed. He said that he didn't like blondes, like Cindy Margolis, especially Test.

• Curtis Hughes defeated Ken Shamrock by Disqualification.
- The Y2J countdown started and Chris Jericho came out. He said that he was one bad mamma jamma and that he had some tremendous news, which was that Ken Shamrock finally admitted backstage that he (Jericho) was tougher and better than him. Jericho said Shamrock begged him to never have a face-to-face confrontation with him again. Jericho said that on the show, Curtis Hughes would take his place in his match, and a fat referee called Senior Al Miguel came out wearing a mask. Jericho did the announcing for the match. As the match went on, Jericho came out and was chased by Shamrock until Hughes decked him. He was then double-teamed by Curtis and Jericho. Back in the ring, Shamrock put Hughes in the Ankle Lock submission, but Hughes reached the ropes, at which point Shamrock let go. The referee, however, quickly called for the bell to ring because Shamrock didn't let go of the hold quick enough. Shamrock then unmasked the referee, who was revealed as Howard Finkel. Shamrock then nailed Finkel.

• Backstage, Lilian Garcia interviewed Mankind. He asked her how she felt about the match and then did The Rock's "It Doesn't Matter How You Feel" line before she could spit out her answer. He said that he and The Rock would work as a team later in the night, like of a car, where The Rock was the good new engine, and Mankind was the old rear. He said he would be the People's Rear and then said he would want The Rock to be the man that Triple H faced for the Heavyweight Title.

• Five-Way Battle Royal: The Undertaker (w/Mideon, Viscera) defeated Kane, The Rock, Mankind, and The Big Show.
- The winner of this match, it looked like, would begin the 9/26 Unforgiven's Heavyweight Title match in the ring with the champion. The Rock came out first, did his usual "The Rock Has Come Back" line, and talked about the Tropicana Casino with a slot machine. He said that three brahma bulls would pop up, and Kane, The Undertaker, and The Big Show, who would be there, would win, and then he would take all of the gold coins and stick them straight up their candy asses. The Big Show came out and dominated The Rock until Mankind came out. Mankind and The Rock worked on Big Show until Kane came out next and brawled with Rock, while Mankind tangled it with Big Show. The Undertaker then came out, dressed in street clothes. Instead of wrestling, he went to commentate. Mankind eventually eliminated Kane with a clothesline, and then right after, The Rock eliminated Mankind. Big Show then chokeslammed The Rock and almost threw him out, but The Rock held on. The Undertaker got up from the commentary position and came into the ring. He eliminated both The Rock and Big Show to win the contest. Big Show and The Undertaker started to argue, while The Rock came in with a chair from behind. He nailed Mideon and Viscera with it. Big Show then knocked him down and The Rock was mauled by the former Corporate Ministry members.

• Backstage, Hardcore and Crash Holly made their ways toward the ring.

• Mr. Ass and Chyna defeated Hardcore and Crash Holly with Ass' Famouser.
- Hardcore and Crash Holly came out with the scale in hand. Hardcore said that Chyna's time was up to find a partner. Chyna came out and said that she was alone. Crash was punched by her and then he tagged in Hardcore after the match officially started. Dave Hebner was the referee for this match. As Chyna was dominated by Hardcore, Mr. Ass ran in from the back and went in to Chyna's corner as her partner. Chyna nailed Hardcore with a DDT Hardcore and then Ass tagged her in from the back without Chyna even tagging him herself. He cleaned house and nailed Crash with the Famouser for the win. Afterward, Ass and Chyna argued while Jeff Jarrett ran in and nailed Chyna over the head with a frying pan. Miss Kitty and Debra then came out and gave Jarrett an apron, which he placed on Chyna. He also took the pan,placed it in Chyna's right hand, and a giant soup spoon in her left, teling her that she belonged in the kitchen. He told her to start fixing him his supper.

• Backstage, Lilian Garcia interviewed The Big Bossman. He had a doggie bag with him that had the remains of Pepper inside. He said that tonight, Al Snow would eat Pepper.

• Pepper on a Pole Match: Al Snow defeated The Big Bossman.
- Sgt. Slaughter was the referee for this match. The match started out with both men getting several punches in. At one time, The Big Bossman caught Al Snow and slammed him down. He followed up by nailing him with his nightstick. The British Bulldog ran out from the back with some Rotwhilers, while Bossman grabbed and threw the doggie bag to the outside of the ring. Snow quickly grabbed the bag and won the match.

• Triple H was shown backstage with Stone Cold Steve Austin spying on him from the back of a truck.

• Jeff Jarrett vs. Test resulted in a No-Contest.
- Mark Ciatin was the referee for this match. Rodney and Pete Gas came out from the back and tried to attack Test on the outside, but Shane McMahon and Sean Stasiak ran out and started brawling with them. Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson also joined the giant fight as it progressed into the ring, where it was ruled a No-Contest. Jarrett then nailed Test with a tornado arm wringer and Stephanie tried to save him. As she did, Jarrett was going to put her in the Figure-Four Leglock, but Shane made the save.

• Backstage, Triple H made his way toward the ring.

• Vince McMahon defeated Triple H (w/Chyna) via Pinfall, to capture the Heavyweight Title.
- Triple H came out. He called Shane McMahon out to referee his match. After Shane came out, Triple H started naming several wrestlers who might have been considered to be his possible opponents. He said it wasn't Mankind, The Big Show, Kane, or The Undertaker, but the man with the balls the size of grapefruits - Vince McMahon. He said if Vince would come out and face him, he would put the Heavyweight Title on the line. Vince declined as he sat backstage along with Linda and watched a television monitor. Triple H insulted McMahon and ripped on him for several minutes, before Vince actually came out. As Vince got into the ring, he tried to reach a compromise with Triple H, saying that maybe they could go backstage and discuss things in a business manner. Triple H said Vince didn't have the balls and Vince still answered with a clear "NO!" Triple H then said that Vince should go and hide behind his skirt and that if the job is not done, Triple H would keep it up for Linda. The remark infuriated Vince, who nailed Triple H from the back to officially start the contest. Triple H dominated and actually put Vince threw a table. He also choked him with a cable wire during the match. Back in the ring, Triple H grabbed a chair and nailed Vince with it. Shane then couldn't take it anymore and speared Triple H. Chyna, however, helped Triple H fight off Shane, and Triple H then chairshotted Shane as well. Vince juiced. Linda came out with Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, who urged her not to get into the ring. They both came into the ring and tried to beat up Triple H, but Triple H and Chyna fought them off. Chyna then held Linda back as Triple H lifted Vince's face up to Linda to taunt her. As Triple H was about to go for the Pedigree, Stone Cold Austin's music hit. He ran out and Stunnered Chyna and Triple H. He placed a bloody Vince on top of Triple H for the 1-2-3. After the match, Triple H chased after Austin in the crowd as The McMahon Family celebrated in the ring.
