He said all the fans usually took leaks when Big Show would make his appearance on a show. The crowd chanted, "Rocky." He said the most impressive thing Big Show had ever done was signal for the chokeslam, yelping out like an ape. Big Show and The Undertaker, along with Bearer, made thier ways down. The Rock said he wasn't running from either of the jabronies. The Undertaker and Big Show quickly entered the ring to lay their attack on The Rock. • Jesse Ventura Interview, Conducted by Jerry Lawler.
- Jesse Ventura made his way out to a huge pop and his old entrance music. Jerry Lawler said Ventura shocked the world and would shock Summerslam. Ventura said he had been out of wrestling for a while and had been doing a lot of other stuff. He said it was time to review who he was. He said he was a former wrestling champion, so he knew his way out of the ring; he was the first referee ever at Summerslam, because it was a special deal required then; and he was the only professional wrestler who could legitimately say he was a Navy Seal. He said we would see a lot of frauds and people who said they were a Navy Seals, but really weren't, and probably played in a hippie rock band. He said people also like to play Navy Seals on television shows, but they weren't actually Navy Seals. Ventura said he was the real deal and went on about some people he knew, and what he had acheived, including climbing the ropes of a ship. He said we all knew who the power was in Minnesota. He said we also knew why the WWF came to Ventura to guest referee a main event match, which was because he was the only one who could deliver law and order and declare a rightful champion. He named out Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H, but before he got to them, he said if we didn't believe he had the power, then notice we didn't see that scumbag Vince McMahon around anymore. Triple H made his way out, along with Chyna. Ventura said he had a simple message, which was at Summerslam, Triple H would get his shot at the Heavyweight Title, but he had to work on his wrestling moves, because the best wrestler would win that night. Ventura said it was his way or the highway in the match. Triple H said Ventura was stuck in 70's. The crowd chanted, "Asshole." Ventura said to Triple H, "I think they are talking to you." Triple H said it wasn't Minnesota, but it was his world and his ring. Ventura told Jerry Lawler to explain to Triple H it was his country. Ventura told Triple H to go look at the newspapers, to see who he (Ventura) was standing next to, which was President Bill Clinton. Triple H said Ventura was now standing in front of him and if he felt like it, he would kick Ventura's ass. WWF Commissioner, Shawn Michaels then made his way out. Michaels told Triple H that Ventura had standard and practices he had to abide by, but he (Michaels) didn't. Michaels said Ventura would be the most powerful referee in WWF history at Summerslam. Michaels said he heard Triple H say it was his world. Michaels said everyone knew who brought Triple H into this world. Michaels said if Triple H didn't get his glare out of his stare, he would knock it out. Triple H shoved Michaels, with Ventura trying to make peace. Michaels took his coat off. The crowd chanted, "Jesse," as Ventura whispered something to Michaels. Michaels said normally he would be Triple H's ass then and there, but Ventura informed Michaels it was politics. Michaels said if Triple H wanted to get physical, he could go one-on-one with Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker in a triple-threat, Heavyweight Title match. As the match was set, Michaels taunted Triple H, begging Triple H to punch him.

• Backstage, Stone Cold Steve Austin arrived.

• Pre-recorded footage was shown of Mark Henry running in what seemed to be a park, along with D-Lo Brown. Henry said he had to use the bathroom. D-Lo told Henry to go back in the woods to urinate, but Henry said there were snakes in there. D-Lo told Henry just to jog, which was what Henry did. Meanwhile, Jeff Jarrett popped out of a white car Debra was driving and attacked D-Lo, while Debra told Jarrett to stop what he was doing.

• Val Venis defeated Jeff Jarrett (w/Debra) with a Powerbomb.
- As Val Venis prepared to say his sexual joke, he was attacked from behind by Jeff Jarrett, to get the match underway. During the match, Jim Ross said something had happened in the stairway of the All-State Arena. In the match, as Venis was on top, Debra got on the apron to distract Jarrett. Jarrett almost ran in to Debra, but when he turned around, he was caught with a Powerbomb. Following th ematch, Jarrett once again blamed Debra for his problems. Venis returned to the ring and punched Jarrett to the outside. Venis then escorted Debra to the backstage area.

• Backstage, Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown laid out below a stairway. WWF and medical officials, including Shawn Michaels, tended to the Heavyweight Champion.

• Backstage, Michael Cole informed us that Stone Cold Steve Austin didn't trip down the stairway, but was attacked, as there was some kind of cement block near Austin when he was laid out on the floor. Cole said Austin was unconscious, as Austin was loaded in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. Triple H came into the picture, as if he was concerned, saying, "What happened?" Shawn Michaels then made his way down to the ring and wondered who should he hold responsible for the attack. Michaels called out Triple H. Michaels said he was guessing Triple H was trying to get out of the Triple-Threat, Heavyweight Title match later in the show. Triple H, along with Chyna, made his way out near the entrance way. Triple H said he didn't even know what happened to Austin, and didn't do a thing. Michaels said he was the teacher and Triple H was the student. Michaels said Triple H was definitely going to wrestle later in the show. Michaels announced Triple H still wrestle later in the show in a Falls Count Anywhere, No Holds Barred match with the number-one contendership on the line. Triple H said it was his time, and Michaels couldn't do that to him. Michaels said he was the WWF Commissioner and could do whatever he wanted. Michaels said he would be the Guest Referee of the match. Triple H said the match wouldn't happen, since Austin was out of action. Michaels questioned who would replace Austin in the Triple-Threat, Heavyweight Title match with Triple H and The Undertaker. He announced that person as Chyna. Triple H said he didn't want to see Chyna get hurt, since she was just a girl. Chyna got upset and took the microphone away from Triple H. Chyna said she would take that opportunity. Chyna said, "Just a woman? Try me, Triple H."

• Backstage, Triple H tried to explain to Chyna calling her a woman was just a figure of speech. Chyna said she was taken the the Heavyweight Title shot and if it was just a figure-of-speech, Triple H would have never said it.

• Kane and X-Pac defeated The Acolytes with X-Pac's X-Factor, to capture the Tag Team Titles.
- Kane's entrance music and pyro went off, followed by the music of D-Generation X for his and X-Pac's entrance. Kane then set some pyro off in the ring. During the match, Jim Ross announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin had just arrived at a hospital and there would be a report on his condition later in the show. The Acolytes mainly worked on X-Pac. After X-Pac came back with an insuguri, he tagged in Kane, who started to dominate. X-Pac went for the Bronco Buster on Faarooq, but Bradshaw pulled him down from behind. Faarooq then set up X-Pac for the Double Powerbomb, but Bradshaw was pulled out of the ring by Kane. Kane then caught Faarooq with the X-Factor for the win. Road Dogg made his way in to celebrate with Kane and X-Pac. X-Pac said if the crowd wasn't down with he and Kane as Tag Team Champions, Kane had two words for us. Kane pulled out his voice encoder, but X-Pac said he didn't need it. Kane's mumbling, first words were, "Suck it." The Big Show and The Undertaker then ran in and destroye RD, X-Pac, and Kane.

The lights completely went off, pyro went off, and out came Chris Jericho. Jeircho said, "Welcome to Raw is Jericho." Jericho said he was the new millennium of the World Wrestling Federation, as The Rock watched on. Jericho introduced himself to those who did and didn't know him. Jericho said when you thought of the millennium, you thought of a dawning of a new era. He said there was a new era in the WWF. He said the WWF needed a new era, as Raw is War had developed into a boring program that needed knight and shining armor. Jericho said he had come to save the WWF. He said television ratings, PPV buyrates, mainstream attention, and reactions of the live crowds had all been down. He said the crowd had been silent because they were embarassed to be there, because of the untalented, mediocre "sports entertainers" in the WWF. Jericho said the crowd could care less about every wrestler in the locker room, including the idiot who was in the ring. Jericho said he was excellence. He said for the first time in WWF history, we had a man who could entertain and was good enough for everyone. Jericho had the crowd chant, "Go Jericho Go," although they were booing him earlier. Jericho said since he was there, no one would be the same again. He called himself the "Y2J." The Rock got on the microphone and said after three boring minutes, he wanted Jericho to know his role and shut his mouth. The Rock, calling Jericho a jabroni, told Jericho he shouldn't have come on The Rock's show without saying his name. The Rock asked Jericho what his name was. Jericho said he already said it, but was interruped by The Rock saying, "It doesn't matter what your name is!" The Rock said he would take his boot, move it sideways, and stick it straight up Jericho's candyass. He then, along with the crowd, said, "If you smell what The Rock is cookin'."

Early in the match, The Undertaker picked up Chyna for a chokeslam, but Chyna got to his eyes. She went for a top rope maneuver, but The Undertaker punched her out of the ring.
