  • The Rock begins the program electrifying the crowd by exclaiming he will take the ‘Rattlesnake’ Steve Austin and the ‘Game’ Triple H, down Know Your Role Blvd. and then hang a right on Jabroni Dr. Rather than stating he would check them into the Smackdown Motel, the Rock sang his rendition of Elvis Prestley’s Heartbreak Hotel, aptly titled Smackdown Hotel. The Rock calls out the Road Dog for a match, but not before calling him a blemish on the Rock’s ‘buttocks.’

  • The Rock versus The Road Dog Jesse James went to a no contest.
The Road Dog and the Rock meet halfway on the ramp and begin to brawl. The brawl ensues towards the backstage area where the Rock is ambushed by the entire DX clan. WWF officials, including Vince McMahon attempt to stop the chaos.

  • Backstage, Vince confronts DX, Triple H more specifically and emphatically says the night will not be a ‘DX night.’

  • The program then cuts to footage of the Big Show’s power display from last Thursday’s Smackdown. Cole asked the Big Show what more he’s capable of. The Big Show responds by stating that with all that he’s been through, especially the events with his father and the Big Bossman, he doesn’t know what he is really capable of. Prince Albert and the Big Bossman toss some type of gas into the dressing room causing the Big Show to suffocate. The EMT are called on to the scene to provide care for the Big Show.

  • The Hardys w/ Terri Runnels and Edge and Christian defeated Too Cool and The Super Heavyweights via pinfall.
There was excellent teamwork by all four teams to begin the contest. The highlight of the match took place on the outside of the ring. Jeff Hardy soars through the air over the top rope into a suicide dive onto an unsuspecting Too Cool. Inside the ring Edge is able to spear Crash Holly to gain the pinfall.

  • In the back, X-Pac is being interviewed but is interrupted by Torrie. Torrie is disgusted at what X-Pac did to Kane during last week’s Smackdown. X-Pac deduces that Torrie has the ‘hots’ for Kane.

  • Raw cuts to a segment with Mankind signing copies of his autobiography for several superstars of the WWF, with Al Snow reading excerpts from the book.

  • The Big Bossman and Prince Albert show their disdain for Al Snow’s trickery on last week’s Smackdown. Al Snow is called out for a Hardcore title match, but decides the match would be unfair due to Prince Albert being ringside. Al Snow introduces his partner who happens to be Mankind, to even up the odds

  • Al Snow and Mankind defeated Prince Albert and the Big Bossman via pinfall.
Early in the contest, the Bossman is caned between the legs. The Bossman is laid out in the corner, while Al Snow proceeds to pull a bowling ball out a bag. Al Snow lines up for a shot and rolls the ball directly into the Bossman’s crotch. Following the painful scene, Prince Albert is caught with the mandible claw and then hip tossed right on top of a door. Al Snow quickly makes the pin to gain the victory.

  • Val Venis is shown backstage burning all the books Mankind had been signing earlier in the program. A furious Mankind puts the flames out with an extinguisher.

  • Chyna w/ Ms. Kitty defeated Stevie Richards dressed up as Chris Jericho via pinfall.
Stevie Richards makes his entrance ala Chris Jericho, with the music and identical mannerisms as the Paragon of Virtue himself, though to no avail. Chyna via a well-executed Pedigree quickly dismantles him.

  • Steve Austin defeated Bad Ass Billy Gunn via pinfall.
Austin is busted open early along his left eye. Both men brawl outside, at one moment taking the action over the guardrail and into the audience. Back inside the ring, Gunn attempts a splash from across the ring but it proved to be a costly mistake as Austin is able to hit the Stunner for the win.

  • Cut to a brief segment of Stephanie McMahon and Test walking backstage. Test is heard telling Stephanie, “do you think this is a good idea?”

  • Test versus Val Venis goes to a no contest.
With Stephanie at ringside doing commentary for her ‘man,’ Test is overpowered by Val Venis early on. Test is taken on the outside and driven into the ring steps and both men exchange several chops. After a failed sleeper hold, Test is able to catch Val with a big foot. Out of nowhere, Mankind interrupts the match and both he and Val chase one another through the sea of people. Stephanie climbs into the ring and says she has regained all her memories of their relationship and wanted to break tradition by asking Test to marry her. Test accepts and the two embrace and kiss.

  • Cut to the McMahons, Brisko, and Patterson celebrating the engagement of the Stephanie and Test. DX interrupts and exclaim they will take no responsibility for what happens to Kane.

  • X-Pac versus Kane goes to a no contest.
X-Pac addresses Kane’s relationship with Torrie at one point calling her a slut. X-Pac continues by saying he’s already told Torrie about Kane’s ‘fire accident,’ referring to problems he may have with a certain male body part. The furious Red Machine makes quick work of the X-Pac by choke slamming him in the middle of the ring. The rest of DX are quick to recover their fallen and begin to overpower Kane with X-Pac humiliating him by performing the Bronco Buster.

  • Cut to a promo of Kurt Angle, basically showcasing all of his accolades, dubbing him as the most celebrated ‘real’ athlete in the WWF.

  • In the backstage area we see the McMahon’s arguing once again with DX members. Kane attacks DX but is pulled apart by WWF officials. An angered Vince McMahon tells Triple H he must defend the WWF Title tonight. His opponent ended up being Shane McMahon.

  • The Headbangers defeated The Dudley Boyz via pinfall. Amongst a chant of ‘boring,’ both teams seemed listless from the on set. In the latter part of the contest Thrasher saves a weakened Mosh and is able to execute a DDT on Buh Buh Ray for the win.

  • Vince McMahon enters the ring and takes over the helm of ring announcer for Shane McMahon versus Triple H for the WWF Championship. Triple H is introduced first though not to the liking of the WWF Champion. Vince then announced that the special guest commentator would be Steve Austin. To the dismay of Triple H, Kane is also brought to ringside as the guest enforcer for the matchup. Finally, the Rock is announced as the guest timekeeper. Shane begins the match with a lot of energy, hitting a clothesline and elbow early on. Triple H is able to counter with a spine buster, but Shane is able to regain composure fairly quickly and gets the Champion in the corner in a compromising position. Shane attempts a Bronco Buster but is pulled outside of the ring by X-Pac where he is the recipient of a sidekick. Kane makes short work of X-Pac’s attack by throwing him over the guardrail. Back inside the ring, Shane is able to connect with a Pedigree; however, Triple H is able to kick out. Shane was once again thrown outside of the ring, but this time met by an attack by the Road Dog. The Road Dog was met by the guest timekeeper, the Rock, and both men brawl towards the back. Shane recovers and begins to climb to the top turnbuckle but is brought back down by Billy Gunn. Steve Austin left the commentators table to see that Billy Gunn no longer interfered in the match, during which time the referee knocked unconscious. Vince McMahon sneaked into the ring holding the championship belt and attempts to hit Triple H, but instead strikes his son causing him to lose the match.
