WCW Monday Nitro Report - September 27, 1999

• Outside of the arena, Hulk Hogan arrived in his limousine. He was greeted by some kids who asked for his autograph. Sting attacked him from behind, kicking on his knee.
• Bobby Heenan showed a fake photo of Kidman bald. Kidman would take on Psychosis later on in the show in a Hair vs. Mask match.
• Backstage, Mike Tenay checked on the condition of Hulk Hogan, who was receiving medical attention. Hogan said, "Not now. I'm going in." He turned down the medical attention, and went into the arena, with assistance. Sting was shown watching the scene on a television monitor in his locker room.
• Chris Benoit defeated Ernest Miller with the Crippler Crossface submission, to retain the Television Title.
- Ernest Miller insulted the crowd and the city of Atlanta. He challenged Sting to a Heavyweight Title match. He said he wasn't leaving until he got it, and if he didn't, he would whoop everybody. Chris Benoit made his way down to take up Miller on his challenge. Miller said he guess he would have to work from the bottom. He said he would begin his collection with Benoit's Television Title. After a lariat, Benoit signaled for his Diving Headbutt. Sonny Onoo entered the ring, went after Benoit, but ended up hitting Miller. After Benoit nailed Miller with a German Suplex, he finished off the match with the Diving Headbutt and Crippler Crossface.
• Buff Bagwell defeated Vampiro with the Blockbuster.
- Before the match, Buff Bagwell showed hs respect for the fans. New referree for this match, who looked like the NWO one from a while back. Vampiro dominated and hit the Nail in the Coffin at one point. Vampiro followed-up with a top rope clothesline, but Bagwell somehow kicked out. Bagwell took the advantage when Vampiro missed a guillotine legdrop. After countering a superplex, Bagwell took the win with the Blockbuster.
• As Tony Schiavone was announcing, someone, with a deep voice said, "Tony" and directed us to a vignette where a computerized window with moving clouds was shown.
• A video was shown of of Lex Luger lying in a coffin, with his soul saying, "Here lies a great champion who we will no longer see no more." Some woman with a black cover on threw flowers near his gravesite. Elizabeth then took off the black cover and suit, and made her way down to the ring. The lights went out and a muscular Lex Luger appeared in the ring. He is now known only as The Total Package.
• Backstage, a doctor tended to Hulk Hogan's knee. Sting nailed him again with a bat.
• Rey Mysterio, Jr. defeated Dean Malenko via Pinfall.
- Before the match, Shane Douglas told Dean Malenko they would watch his back. Malenko didn't want their help, nor did Rey Mysterio, Jr. want his partners' help, so the three members of each team headed to the back. During the match, we saw a shot of Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner arriving. Mysterio took the match out of nowhere with a roll-up. He and Malenko shook hands afterwards.
• Goldberg defeated Hugh Morrus (w/Jimmy Hart) with the Jackhammer.
- Jimmy Hart said Goldberg was next. As Goldberg was dominating, he was hit with a chair on the outside behind the referee's back, courtesy of Sid Vicious. Hugh Morrus was on top at that point. Morrus hit the No Laughing Matter Moonsault, but goldberg kicked out when the pin attempt was made. Morrus was soon speared and Jackhammered. Goldberg said he proved it all to Sid. He called Sid out in his hometown. He said he had never been so serious about kicking one man's ass in his life. He said it wasn't about who was left, but who was next.
• An ambulance took off from the arena.
• Nitro Girl search update.
• A member of ZZ Top and another of Lynard Skynard were shown at ringside.
• Berlyn defeated Evan Karagias with the Reversed Neckbreaker.
- Berlyn had David Penzer announce that he wanted total silence in the arena. After Berlyn's bodyguard got a cheap shot on Evan Karagias, Berlyn followed-up with the Reversed Neckbreaker for the win. Berlyn continued his punishement on Karagias, putting him in a chinlock. Brad Armstrong ran in to make the save, but was outnumbered.
• Backstage, Goldberg searched for Sid Vicious. A crew member gave Goldberg a key to Sid's car.
• Backstage, David Flair made a phone call to Torrie Wilson. The person on the phone gave David another number. David shook his head.
• Harlem Heat defeated The West Texas Rednecks (Barry and Kendall Windham, w/Curt Hennig, Vincent) via Pinfall, to retain the Tag Team Titles.
- Curt Hennig and Vincent got in their cheap shots throughout the match. As the referee argued with Kendall Windham, Stevie Ray nailed Barry repeatedly with one of the Tag Team Title belts. Booker T. then made the pin.
• Backstage, Goldberg had the yellow pages open. He told whomever over the phone that his location was at the Philips Arena. He then smiled, as we went to a commercial break.
• Rick Steiner defeated Van Hammer with the Steiner Bulldog.
- After Van Hammer challenged Sid Vicious the previous Thursday on Thunder, Rick Steiner said Sid had better things to do. Hammer signaled for the Cobra Clutch Slam, but Charles Robinson held him back, as Rick Steiner nailed in some punches. Steiner then took the win with the Steiner Bulldog.
• Bret Hart Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Gene Okerlund asked for the extent on Bret Hart's injuries after being attacked with a baseball back by Lex Luger. Hart said he had a few stitches but it would take a hell of a lot more to stop him. Hart said no one was more happier than him to be back. He said he was talking about respect. He said he used to respect Sting and Luger, but not anymore. Hart called both scum. Hart said Hulk Hogan was the "Elvis Presley" of wrestling. He said he was glad that Hogan was his partner. Ric Flair made his way out, at which point Hart said Flair was the best there is, the best there was, and the best their ever will be. Hart said he was honored to be Flair's partner later in the night. Flair said no matter what had happened in their lifetimes, they (Flair, Hart, Hogan) would kick Sting, Luger, and Diamond Dallas Page's ass. Flair confirmed that Hogan was taken to the hospital in the ambulance earlier in the show, however. He said he and Hart would kick ass anyway. Flair went crazy at this point, throwing elbow drops everywhere. Hart told the heels to bring it on.
• Backstage, David Flair asked Torrie Wilson where she was. Wilson was with Kidman in The Filthy Animal's locker room. Wilson claimed she was in an accident at the airport, and she was sick. The Filthy Animals whispered and laughed in the background, with David asking who that was. Wilson said she was tired. David then hung up on her.
• Konnan and Perry Saturn went to a No-Contest.
- As Konnan and Perry Saturn wrestled a back and forth match, The Filthy Animals, Psychosis, and several others interfered. Shane Douglas made his way down to pull Perry Saturn out of the ring. Saturn didn't want any help. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko made their ways down to side off with Saturn. Douglas argued with Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn as the segment concluded.
• Backstage, Sid Vicious walked by his car, and then went back inside the arena. A tow truck then pulled up to haul Sid's car out of there. Goldberg told the driver he knew what to do, and told him to make sure he had it back at the arena at 11:00.
• Diamond Dallas Page Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Diamond Dallas Page told the crowd to shut the hell up. Page said he happened to be married to one of the most beautiful people in the world. He said sometimes people hated him. Okerlund claimed it was because of Page's ego, but Page said it was because of his wife. Page then said he delivered the goods and was the greatest two-time Heavyweight Champion. He said he, the new Lex Luger, and Sting would run through Bret Hart and Ric Flair later in the night. Page said it was his understanding Hogan missed his flight. Okerlund corrected him, saying Hogan was at the hospital.
• Hair vs. Mask: Kidman defeated Psychosis (w/Chavo Guerrero, Jr., Juventud Guerrera) with the Shooting Star Press.
- A barber and his chair awaited Kidman near the entrance-way. Psychosis had the advantage with help from Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and Juventud Guerrera. Kidman later set up Psychosis for the Shooting Star Press. However, Chavo nailed him with the Tornado DDT, as Guerrera pulled Psychosis out of the ring and argued with the referee. Kidman kicked out on two. The referee was distracted once again, as Guerrera nailed Kidman with the Juvi Driver. Psychosis made the pin attempt, but Kidman surprisingly kicked out once again. After nailing Psychosis with a facebuster, and taking out Chavo and Guerrera, Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press for the win. Kidman went to unmask Psychosis immediately, and almost got it off, but Psychosis kept it on. He, Chavo, and Guerrera all attacked Kidman. Kidman soon outmaneuvered them all, as The Filthy Animal ran in to assist him. Psychosis' mask was eventually removed, with him covering his face with a towel at one point, and then running off.
• Backstage, Sting, The Total Package, Diamond Dallas Page, Elizabeth, Ric Flair, and Bret Hart made their ways toward the ring.
• Ric Flair and Bret Hart defeated Diamond Dallas Page, Sting, and The Total Package (w/Elizabeth) by Disqualification.
- Ric Flair immediately hit Sting with some low-blows. At one point, Bret Hart had The Total Package in the Sharpshooter, but Sting made the save. The heels worked on Hart. The hot tag was soon made to Flair. Flair set up Sting for the Figure-Four Leglock, but decided to stop at it, as Hart battled it out with Package and Page on the outside of the ring. Flair then put Sting in the Figure-Four. Elizabeth handed the baseball bat to Package, who used it to choke out Sting. Package then entered the ring and nailed Flair with the bat for the Disqualification. David Flair entered the ring to defend his father, but was beaten down by the heels and received the Diamond Cutter. Outside of the arena, an ambulance was empty. Package had Flair in the Torture Rack, while Sting had Hart in the Sharpshooter. The punishment continued on Hart and Flair. Hogan, who had a legbrace on, with one half of his jeans cut off, limped down to the ring. He took out the heels easily with punches and the bat.
• Backstage, Sid Vicious found that his car had been crushed. He yelled out, "Oh My God." He got on top of the piece of junk and yelled out for Goldberg.
