• Sid Vicious Interview.
- Sid Vicious would take on Hollywood Hogan for the Heavyweight Title in the main event. He said the fans felt the same inticipation as him (they actually booed), as he would get a title shot. He said Hogan had something that belonged to him. He then insulted the crowd, saying they could chant "Hogan," all they wanted, but it wouldn't do them any good. He said he would have Hogan tell him, "You are the master and the ruler of the world."
• Fit Finlay and Jerry Flynn went to a No-Contest.
- Jimmy Hart appeared on the big screen, on the outside of the arena. He bragged with Fit Finlay's Hardcore Trophy and told Finlay to come to Road Wild if he wanted it back. The crowd chanted "USA." As Finlay and First Family member, Jerry Flynn went to the outside, Finlay wanted to use a chair, but the referee wouldn't allow it. Finlay was on top of Flynn, at which point Hart appeared on the screen once again to cheer on Flynn. After Finlay put Flynn through a roll-a-way slam, Finlay ran to the outside to look for Hart. Hart hid under a bus, but Finlay found him. He was about to pull Hart out, only to be attacked from behind by The First Family.
• Backstage, J.J. Dillon had the contracts of Lodi and Lenny Lane, as both were sitting next to him. Dillon said Lodi and Lane didn't sign them the right way because they were brothers. Lodi and Lane signed their new contract.
• Hollywood Hogan Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- There was a Hollywood Hogan look-a-like in the front row. Hogan said Hollywood mania was running wild. He said when he beat Randy Savage the previous week for the Heavyweight Title, his whole life changed. He said he didn't know what would happen after being out for months with a knee injury. He said he knew all the big dogs would be coming after him, so he welcomed Sid Vicious. He said instead of telling Sid he was the master of the ruler of the world, he would have Sid on his feet, telling him he was the man. Hogan then discussed matters on Kevin Nash. He said he was ready for his title match with Nash at the Road wild PPV, right after he ran through Sid.
• Norman Smiley defeated Lodi (w/Lenny Lane) via Pinfall.
- Lodi had several signs, with one reading, "If you only knew." Norman Smiley made his return after being out of action for several months with a neck injury. Smiley was manhandling Lodi, until he was distracted and attacked by Lenny Lane. Smiley managed to take the win with a hook-up pinfall. Smiley started to do the Big Wiggle, with Lane and Lodi joining in.
• Eric Bischoff joined in for commentary.
• Sting defeated Ric Flair (w/Arn Anderson, Asya) by making him submit to the Scorpian Deathlock, to capture the Presidency of WCW.
- The Presidency of WCW was on the line. Charles Robinson officiated the match. He got in Sting's face, so Sting immediately put him through a Scorpian Deathdrop. Sting picked up Robinson by his pants, and threw him out of the ring, as a (fair) referee made his way in. Sting was dominating Ric Flair, with Flair getting in a few shots. Sting had the win with a superplex, but when a pinfall was being made, Arn Anderson pulled the referee out of the ring. Anderson argued with the referee and then punched him out. Sting went to the outside and knocked out Anderson. Sting was about to enter the ring, but was attacked by Sid Vicious. Back in the ring, Flair put Sting in the Figure-Four Leglock, but Sting kicked out of the pin and then reversed the submission maneuver. Sting wasn't selling any of Flair's shots, until he had an elbow put in his face when going for a Stinger Splash. Sting got right back up and powerslammed Flair from the top turnbuckle. Sting went for another Stinger Splash, but Flair put the referee in front of him. Anderson got on the apron and was immediatley knocked down by Sting. Asya got in and received a Stinger Splash. Flair was then put in the Scorpian Deathlock, but the referee was knocked out. Eric Bischoff entered the ring, got in Flair's face, and called for the bell. As Bischoff raised the new President's arm, both were hit from behind by Sid. Sid put Bischoff through a huge powerbomb. Hollywood Hogan ran down, with Sid immediately leaving to the backstage area.
• Rick Steiner defeated Horace with the Steiner Bulldog, to retain the Television Title.
- Eric Bischoff was no longer doing commentary. Horace used a chair on the outside of the ring to his advantage. Rick Steiner was in the ring, arguing with the referee, as Kevin Nash came down and destroyed Hollywood Hogan's nephew, Horace on the outside. After Horace was thrown back to the inside of the ring, Steiner finished him off with the Steiner Bulldog. Steiner and Nash then shook hands, as Hogan made his way in. Hogan asked Nash what gave with him. Hogan thought it was strictly business, but Nash was making it personal. Nash said he learned that it was business, but also real personal.
• Eddie Guerrero defeated Psychosis with the Frog Splash.
- Psychosis was on top of Eddie Guerrero the majority of the match, but after Guerrero slammed down Psychosis with an airplane spin, he executed the Frog Splash for the win. Following the match, Villano V and La Parka ran in. A three-on-one attack continued on Guerrero, until Rey Mysterio, Jr. made the save. Once he and Guerrero cleared house, both bumped backs, and had a stare off, but ended up shaking hands.
• Backstage, Stevie Ray asked Brian Adams and Vincent what was going on. He asked if Horace was alright. He said he was going to take care of The Triad, after they attacked his brother, Booker T., the previous week on Nitro. He asked Adams and Vincent if they had his back. Adams questioned Ray if he was still down with the NWO Black and White. Ray said he was and just wanted to know if they had his back. They said they did.
• Stevie Ray defeated Kanyon (w/Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow) with the Flapjack.
- Kanyon asked who was better than him. Everyone said everybody. Diamond Dallas Page called out Stevie Ray, saying he was fat. Kanyon then insulted Ray, saying his mother was even fatter. As the match went on, Ray had Kanyon set for the Flapjack, but was interrupted by the interference of Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow. DDP and Bigelow ended up getting thrown out of the ring, with Ray eventually taking the win with his finisher. Ray was then attacked by The Triad. He was put through the Flatliner and was about to be taped up to the ropes in the corner of the ring, until his brother, Booker T., made the save. No help from NWO Black and White members.
• Arli$$ joined in for commentary to plug the episode involving WCW superstars on the 7/25 at 9:30pm EST.
• Randy Savage (w/Gorgeous George, Miss Madness) and Kidman went to a No-Contest.
- Arli$$ said he was in town not only to plug the WCW episode of his program, but also because he was scouting Dennis Rodman. Randy Savage said Kevin Nash was a dead man. Savage announced his candidancy for the President of the United States in the year 2000 election, just to get to Hollywood Hogan. As the match went on, Kidman knocked Savage to the outside, where Savage went crazy with a chair. Kidman was later on the outside, where Savage picked up the advantage after Miss Madness dropkicked Kidman from behind. Miss Madness gave Kidman yet another (missle) dropkick on the inside, which gave Savage the opportunity to put Kidman through a piledriver and the Big Elbow. He wouldn't make the pin, though. Savage knocked out the referee and put Kidman through another Big Elbow. Dennis Rodman, who was in a hat, feather boa, lipstick, and all, then ran in and knocked out Savage. Arli$$ went in the ring, scouting Rodman. Gene Okerlund entered the ring and asked Arli$$ what was going on. Arli$$ told Rodman not to blow it, because he was the biggest star WCW had ever had. He said Rodman would get an contract and proposed a Rodman vs. Savage match for the Road Wild PPV. Savage wanted to go at Rodman but was held back by security. Savage told Rodman he would take his training bra off and make him a man and his bitch. Madusa ran in, and she and Miss Madness went at it.
• Konnan defeated Vampiro by Disqualification.
- Konnan said Vampiro would have to prove himself one more time. Konnan slapped Vampiro across the face. Vampiro immediately went at him. Vampiro was dominating Konnan with several kicks, until Konnan came back with a face buster. At that point, Insane Clown Posse interfered and attacked Konnan. The three-on-one attack continued on Konnan with Vampiro putting him through the Vampiro Spike. Shaggy 2 Dope gave Konnan a guillotine legdrop, while Violent J nailed him with a moonsult. Rey Mysterio, Jr. ran in and took out ICP, but was taken down after being powerbombed by Vampiro. Meanwhile, a returning Raven was standing on the apron, just staring at what was going on in the ring.
• Buff Bagwell Interview, With Fake Sonny Onoo, Chae.
- Buff Bagwell came out, looking like Sonny Onoo, with the bald head, red shoes, clothes, etc. He had Chae of The Nitro Girls and some guy with a Sonny Onoo mask on. Bagwell cut a promo like Miller, as he called someone out and insulted the crowd. When he said someone better call his mama, he said she was so fat, she couldn't get to the phone. The real Miller and Onoo made their ways out. Onoo took out the fake imposter easily, while Bagwell destroyed Miller. Miller, however, pulled out his red shoe from a briefcase and clocked Bagwell. He told Bagwell he may sound like him, but can't dance like him. Miller then put Bagwell through an elbow and covered him, with Onoo doing the counting.
• Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn defeated The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig and Barry Windham, w/Kendall Windham, Bobby Duncum, Jr.) by Disqualification.
- Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit first worked on the knee of Curt Hennig. Both blew their noses on him. Hennig was quickly back on top, however, after cheapshots from Kendall Windham and Bobby Duncum, Jr., which continued throughout the match. The West Texas Rednecks worked on Chris Benoit. Benoit later made the hot tag to Saturn, but the referee called the match after there was too much interference from Kendall and Duncum. As the attack continued on Benoit and Saturn, Dean Malenko ran in to make a save, but was outnumbered. Shane Douglas then made his debut, as he made the save for Malenko, Benoit, and Saturn (the future Four Horsemen). Douglas said Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn were the toughest SOBs in WCW. He said WCW would start to change. He also said that he came from a place where people would take your spot and you would have to take it back by bashing heads in with stop signs. Douglas said there was a cancer in WCW, and as of that night, they were taking the company back.
• Hollywood Hogan defeated Sid Vicious by Disqualification, to retain the Heavyweight Title.
- Sid Vicious was hesitant to enter the ring at first, but when he did, he started to work on Hollywood Hogan's knee. Hogan continued to get some offense, but Sid remained on top. Hogan later "hulked up" and hit Sid with a boot to the face. Sid was still up, however. Hogan bodyslammed him down and called out to the crowd. He was about to go for the Leg Drop, but Kevin Nash attacked him. Sting joined in to help out Hogan, while Rick Steiner ran in to help Nash. The music from the Megadeath song, "Crush 'Em" played, as Goldberg ran in and took out Nash and Steiner. Hogan, Goldberg, and Sting all stood in the ring, as Nash, Steiner, and Sid held each other's arms up on the outside.
