WCW Monday Nitro Report - July 12, 1999

• Randy Savage Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Gene Okerlund said Randy Savage was indeed the new Heavyweight Champion, but the fans weren't for him and he proved everyone right. Savage said some can accept it, some can't. He said he was the baddest man on the planet since he was the champion. Okerlund asked where the rest of Team Madness was. Savage said he was the boss and the interview was something he had to do himself. The fans chanted, "Goldberg." He said in the previous night at the Bash at the Beach PPV, Sid Vicious was very vicious in the tag team match of Savage and Sid vs. Sting and Kevin Nash with the title on the line. He then taunted Nash and challenged anyone, except Nash since he didn't deserve a shot at the title. A returning Hollywood Hogan then made his way out. Savage, who went to the outside of the ring, told Okerlund to get Hogan out of there. Hogan asked if he was just hearing things or did Savage challenge anyone. Savage said Hogan belonged to the same category Nash was in, so he wouldn't get the title shot. Hogan said he saw the PPV and Nash should still have been the remaining champion. Hogan said it had already been done and was going after the title on the show. Savage said he over-reacted and just gave Hogan a way out. Hogan and Savage continued to taunt each other to set up the main event.

• Konnan defeated Vampiro by Disqualification.
- Vampiro came out to a lot of pyro. He surprisingly fought one of his legit enemies, Konnan. Vampiro mainly dominated Konnan, with Konnan attempting to gain control. On the outside, Vampiro threw a chair at Konnan, reusulting in a Disqualification. Vampiro continued his assault on Konnan, putting him through the Vampiro Spike.

• It was announced that Dean Malenko would take on Ric Flair later in the show.

• Ernest Miller Interview, with Sonny Onoo.
- Ernest Miller danced in his red shoes. Miller insulted the crowd and Buff and Judy Bagwell. Bagwell then made his way out. Bagwell taunted Miller, with Miller saying to kiss his ass. Bagwell then challenged Miller, with Miller then attacking him from behind. Miller continued to pound on Bagwell, with Bagwell eventually taking control. Sonny Onoo then entered the ring, only to be bodyslammed. When Bagwell turned around, Miller nailed him with the Standing Red Show Side Kick. Onoo then counted Miller's pin on Bagwell, as the bell was rung.

• Ric Flair (w/Arn Anderson, Asya) and Dean Malenko went to a No-Contest.
- Eric Bischoff joined in for commentary and said Kevin Nash had not arrived at the Jacksonville Coliseum yet. Charles Robinson officiated the match. Arn Anderson got his cheapshots on Dean Malenko throughout the match to keep Flair on top, with Robinson turning his head away. Later in the match, Malenko had a pin on Flair, but Robinson pretended to argue with Anderson. After Robinson was squahsed in the corner, with referee Johnny Boone making his way down, Flair strapped Malenko in the Figure-Four Leglock. Malenko reversed it, at which point Asya knocked out Boone. Robinson rang the bell, leading everyone to believe Malenko had the win, but Robinson raised Flair's hand. The attacks continued on Boone and Malenko. Sting then ran in and scared everyone off. Flair told Sting to get out of his building. Sting said Flair's Presidency meant nothing to him. He said Flair's diamonds had lost and their luster and Space Mountain was on his viagra. Flair said Sting was a dead man. Sting said after 10 years, Flair was still around. Flair said it was because he was the man. Sting said he was back in black and wanted control of the compnay by taking on Flair later in the show. Flair said Sting couldn't make the match since he wasn't the boss. Flair said if Sting beat David later in the show, he could wrestle him (Flair) for control of WCW. Sting said he wasn't above beating up David, but would do it to get to Flair for control of the company.

• Kidman defeated Steve Regal (w/Dave Taylor, Fit Finlay) via Pinfall.
- Fit Finlay and Dave Taylor got their cheapshots on Kidman, using the pole from their British flag, which let Steve Regal dominate. Kidman later landed on the referee, accidently knocking him out. Taylor and Finlay then entered to use a chair, but Finlay ended up hitting himself with it and Taylor got knocked out by Kidman. Kidman then went for the Shooting Star Press on Finlay, but accidently landed on the ropes. Eric Bischoff came in to check on Kidman's condition. Kidman rolled up Regal, with Bischoff counting the pin. Regal, Finlay, and Taylor told off Bischoff.

• Sid Vicious defeated Kenny Kane with the Powerbomb.
- Before the match, Eric Bischoff announced Insane Clown Posse would perform and Dennis Rodman would make his debut at the 7/19 Nitro from Rockford, Illinois. He also announced KISS would perform at the 8/24 Nitro from Las Vegas, Nevada. Anyway, in the match, the fans chanted, "Goldberg." Sid totally manhandled Kenny Kaos and easily finished him off with the Powerbomb. Sid got on the microphone and asked a knocked out Kaos if he felt the power. He said to reach his destiny, he must take out Sting. He said Sting would be his next victim.

• Sting and David Flair (w/Torrie Wilson, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Asya) went to a No-Contest, to let David retain the United States Title.
- Ric Flair told Sting he had the opportunity to leave before he got hurt. Sting immediately put David Flair through a Stinger Splash and the Scorpian Deathlock, but referee Charles Robinson didn't see David submitting. Flair and Arn Anderson then entered, but were taken down by Sting. Asya then entered. Flair held her in front of him as Sting landed on the both of them with a Stinger Splash.

• Fit Finlay Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Fit Finlay was the new Hardcore Champion after winning a Junkyard Hardcore Invitational Match the previous dayat Bash at the Beach PPV. The trophy was in the ring. Finlay said he represented Northern Ireland. Finlay said he, Steve Regal, and Dave Taylor had a plan that worked and that was putting all in the hospital. He said the Junkyard Match was one of the most difficult matches of his career. He then insulted the American fans. Finlay said there was no one who could stand up to him. The First Family then ran in and destroyed Finlay. The luchadores, Public Enemy, Mikey Whipwreck, Regal, Taylor, and Horace were next in the ring, as a huge brawl broke out. Jimmy Hart took off with the Hardcore Trophy, which Finlay went after . The brawl among the participants of the Junkyard Match continued to the backstage area.

• Diamond Dallas Page (w/Bam Bam Bigelow, Kanyon) defeated Booker T. via Pinfall.
- Eric Bischoff announced that Sting vs. Ric Flair for Control of WCW would happen next week, since Flair would be forced into the match. Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon made an appearance in the beginning with Diamond Dallas Page to cut a promo. They left, as DDP mainly remained on top with Booker T., including basically any maneuvers Booker executed. The referee was accidently knocked out after DDP bumped into him. Kanyon then entered and put Booker through the Flatliner. DDP's arm was placed over Booker, but when the pin was made, Booker kicked out at the last second. Kanyon then brought in some powder, which ended up going into his face. Booker went for a pin on DDP, only to be attacked by Bigelow, resulting in a Disqualification. The referee was put through a Diamond Cutter. The attack continued on Booker, with the combination of Greetings from Asbury Park and the Diamond Cutter being executed. Booker's arms were taped up in the corner of the ring, as The Triad attack continued. The NWO Black and White was shown in the backstage area, with everyone, except Stevie Ray enjoying what was going on. Ray got upset at his NWO Black and White members and took off to the ring to scare off The Triad.

• Hollywood Hogan defeated Randy Savage (w/Gorgeous George, Madusa, Miss Madness) with the Leg Drop, to capture the Heavyweight Title.
- Hollywood Hogan came out to the theme music of The Wolfpac, but came out to his regular entrance music when he made his appearance in the beginning of the show. As Hollywood Hogan took advantage of the match, Madusa and Miss Madness interfered. Hogan banged their heads together. Madusa and Madness then got into a catfight on the outside of the ring. Security dragged them to the backstage area. Randy Savage wanted to leave the ring, but eventually made his way back in, as Hogan remained in control. Savage tried to a use a chair on the outside, but Hogan ended up using it. They went to the announcer's table. Savage gained the advantage after throwing Gorgeous George into Hogan and using a chair. Savage then used Hogan's belt. He went for the Big Elbow, but Hogan moved. Hogan then pumped up and called out to the crowd. Sid Vicious then interfered and hammered Hogan. The match still went out since Hogan asked for a No Disqualification in the match. Sid was about to put Hogan through the Powerbomb, but Sting ran in and took care of him. Meanwhile, George gave Savage a chain, which he used to knock out Hogan. Savage was about to make the pin, but Kevin Nash interfered and Jack-Knife Powerbomed Savage. Hogan then put Savage through the Leg Drop for the win. Hogan freaked out in the end and was really excited. Nash told Hogan, "Welcome back" and said it was two times he handed Hogan the belt. Nash said he thought it was safe to go back in the water, but the shark came back in the tank, which meant a match of he and Hogan for the title would soon take place. Nash said this time, the outcome would be his way. He said he and Hogan would end things once and for all. He told Nash to arrange things. Hogan told Nash he had guts to end the show.
