• Outside of the arena, Ric Flair, along with David and the United Center owner Bruce McCarther, arrived in a black imousine. Flair told David, who now had blonde hair just like his father, he would take on Kevin Nash for the Heavyweight Title later in the show. They were standing near a Michael Jordan statue and the owner told David he would build him a statue once he captured the title.
• Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit defeated Steve Regal and Fit Finlay (w/Dave Taylor) with Saturn's Death Valley Driver.
- The trio of Steve Regal, Fit Finlay, and Dave Taylor, which was formed the previous Thursday on Thunder after Regal made peace between Finlay and Taylor, came out with a British flag. Finlay and Regal slowly worked on Perry Saturn, who had a bandage across his head. At one point, as the referee was distracted, Regal took a shot at Saturn with the flagpole. Chris Benoit was finally tagged in and he started to dominate. He connected with the Diving Headbutt on Finlay and then put him in the Crippler Crossface, but Regal made the save. Regal then had Saturn in an STF, but Benoit made the save time time. As action continued inside the ring, Saturn nailed Regal with the Death Valley Driver for the win.
• Backstage, Ric Flair, along with Arn Anderson, Asya, and a returnig Charles Robinson, told Roddy Piper about his plan of booking David in a Heavyweiht Title match with Kevin Nash. Van Hammer interrupted and requested a title shot. Flair whispered into Piper's ear. Piper told Hammer he would take on Rick Steiner for the Television Title at the Bash at the Beach PPV.
• Ric Flair Interview, with Arn Anderson, Charles Robinson, Asya, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Gene Okerlund pointed out the negative signs for Ric Flair in the crowd. Flair just said if you saw the success of the Bulls and Blackhawks this season, Chicago was even lucky to have him blow through the city. Flair then introduced Roddy Piper to the ring. Piper named out some sports names of Chicago, but said the city now had he and Flair. Piper then insulted Howard Stern, since Stern said he would like to get in the ring with Piper. Piper said Stern was the cause of today's youth, but there was one young man with morals and respect, named David, who would take on Kevin Nash later in the show for the Heavyweight Title in what was now a Lumberjack Match with Vice President Charles Robinson as the referee. Flair said the political structure of WCW would never allow him to be champion again, as he told a fan in the crowd to shut up, but said his son would become the champion. Flair then discussed matters on Randy Savage. He said he would like to apologize to Savage and make a deal with him. Savage and the rest of Team Madness made their ways toward the ring (amazing to see Sid and Arn Anderson in the same ring and the same side). Flair asked Sid Vicious, Savage, and the women to join up with he, Piper, Asya, and Anderson as Lumberjacks. Flair said if Savage joined his ranks, he would legalize the Big Elbow. Robinson interrupted, saying Flair couldn't legalize the maneuver, since Savage injured him with it. Flair pushed Robinson away and said it was okay. Savage got on the microphone and basically said he didn't care who the Heavyweight Champion was. Savage cut the deal with Flair, as Sid said, "Let the bandits run free." Flair said by the end of the night, everyone would be saying, "I want to be like Dave." Savage said it would be Nash's worst nightmare. Flair officially announced the Big Elbow was legal. Piper asked Flair if he was alright, because if he wasn't, he could be the President of WCW. Flair said he was alright. Piper then taunted the younger superstars of WCW.
• Backstage, Lenny Lane, along with Lodi, was putting on blue nail polish. Lane told Lodi he was worried that people in WCW would find out about them. Lodi said not to worry since there were probably others like them. Lodi said, "You got me, and I got you, babe," as he rubbed Lane's shoulders.
• Eddie Guerrero defeated Lodi (w/Lenny Lane) with the Frog Splash.
- Lodi was wearing pink and blue tights. He had signs that said "Lodi is back on Nitro" and "Lenny is cool." In the beginning of the match, Lodi accidently bumped into the referee. Lenny Lane came in for the double-team, but Guerrero still dominated. Guerrero was set to execute the Frog Splash, but Lane covered Lodi up, and told him not to. Guerrero ended up giving the both a Frog Splash, as the pin was made on Lodi in a match that lasted about a minute.
• Backstage, Ric Flair, along with Arn Anderson, David, Torrie Wilson, and Asya, went over the people they had as Lumberjacks in the David vs. Kevin Nash Heavyweight Title in the main event with Roddy Piper. Piper said they needed more lumberjacks, so they decided on The Triad.
• Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Hak (w/Chastity) via Pinfall.
- Hak asked the crowd if they wanted to see him get hardcore and extreme. Hak said there was a nut in WCW who didn't like his kind of matches, as he called out Ric Flair. Instead, one half of the Tag Team Champions, Bam Bam Bigelow made his way out. Bigelow dominated Hak, until Hak gained the advantage with a DDT and by using the kendo stick. Kanyon and Diamond Dallas Page made their ways down, but Hak clocked them with the kendo stick. Hak then hit his Russian Legsweep on Bigelow, but was unable to make the pin after he was given a Diamond Cutter by DDP. Bigelow then made the pin for the victory.
• Kevin Nash Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Kevin Nash let Chicago, Illinois know he was in the house. Nash said he was an outsider in WCW and everyone wanted him to lose the Heavyweight Title later in the show. He said the only ally he had, Scott Hall, was in Orlando, Florida, so he was on his own. Nash said since he was putting up the gold, he had a stipulation, which was if he won, he would get Torrie Wilson for 72 hours. Nash said other people have put stipulations on the line for 30 days and 60 days, but after 72 hours, Torrie would be ruined. Nash told David and the rest to bring it on, because he was leaving the champion.
• Curt Hennig, Bobby Duncum, Jr., Barry Windham, and Kendall Windham defeated NWO Black and White with a Double Bulldog by Duncum and Kendall. - The NWO Black and White members consisted of Stevie Ray, Vincent, Brian Adams, and Horace. Curt Hennig, Bobby Duncum, Jr., Barry Windham, and Kendall Windham wore their cowboy hats, with Windham being the only one who wore a Rap is Crap World Tour t-shirt. As the others battled on the outside of the ring, Kendall and Duncum finished off Vincent with a Double Bulldog for the win.
• Ernest Miller (w/Sonny Onoo) defeated Disco Inferno by Disqualification.
- The confrontation between Disco Inferno and Ernest Miller was originally a Dancing Contest. Some of The Nitro Girls were at the announcer's table with Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan. Referee, Nick Patrick said the winner would be decided by the audience's response. Miller got on the microphone and told the "stupid people" in the crowd that if they didn't cheer for him, he would get his karate gee from his car and beat every redneck in the building. Miller put on his red dancing shoes, took off his robe, and danced around. Disco then danced to his entrance music to a big pop, only to be attacked from behind by Miller. The dance contest then turned into a regular wrestling match. Sonny Onoo got his cheapshots on Disco. After hitting the Last Dance and an attemp tto make the pin, it was broken but Onoo, who accidently stomped on Miller. Disco then kicked Onoo out of the ring. As Disco argued with the referee, Miller put on the red shoe, clocked Disco with a Roundhouse Kick, and was about to make the pin, until Jerry Flynn of The First Family entered the ring. Flynn kicked Miller out of the ring and challenged Miller to a Kickboxing Match the following week on Nitro from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. As Flynn made his way back to the locker room, he cursed straight on the camera, and had a face of, "Oops," although it was edited out.
• The Triad (Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon, w/Bam Bam Bigelow) defeated Buff Bagwell and Dean Malenko, to retain the Tag Team Titles.
- Before the match, Ric Flair, along with Charles Robinson and Arn Anderson, announced on commentary that Anderson would officiate the Heavyweight Title match later in the show between Kevin Nash and David instead of Robinson. Anderson said he would get revenge on Nash for the parody skit he did when he was involved with The Wolfpac. In the match, Bam Bam Bigelow was allowed to get involved in the match, which let The Triad dominate by working on Dean Malenko. Buff Bagwell was tagged in and started to clean house. He went for the Blockbuster on Kanyon, but Bigelow knocked him off the top turnbuckle. The match continued, with this time around seeing The Triad work on Bagwell. Malenko was tagged in, but when he went to make the pin, DDP threw him off, causing both to land on the referee. Bagwell hit the Blockbuster on Kanyon and Malenko put the Texas Cloverleaf on him, but both were knocked down by DDP and Bigelow. DDP and Bigelow then put Malenko through the Double Team Diamond Cutter for the win.
• The debut of the video "I hate Rap" was aired.
• Sid Vicious (w/Randy Savage, Gorgeous George, Madusa, Miss Madness) defeated Scott Putski with the Powerbomb.
- Randy Savage kept getting on the commentary microphone and basically bragged. Scott Putski was hesitant to go at Sid Vicious, since he was totally surrounded on all sides by Savage and his women. Sid gained the advantage once Madusa got her hands on Putski. There were some surprising "Goldberg" chants during the match. Sid dominated Putski and finished him off with the Powerbomb. Savage then got on the microphone and bragged about Sid. He taunted Kevin Nash and said Nash wouldn't be the Heavyweight Champion by the end of the night. Sid also did the same, as Savage nailed Putski with the Big Elbow.
• Backstage, separate camera shots were shown of Kevin Nash and David Flair making their ways toward the ring. David, who was with his father and Robinson, was wearing a Ric Flair style robe.
• Lumberjack Match: Kevin Nash and David Flair (w/Torrie Wilson) went to a No-Contest, to let Nash retain the Heavyweight Title.
- Arn Anderson officiated the match. All the Lumberjacks on the outside of the ring were Ric Flair, Bruce McCarther, Roddy Piper, Charles Robinson, Asya, Randy Savage, Sid Vicious, Gorgeous George, Madusa, Miss Madness, Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Kanyon. Sid and Savage got on the commentary microphone and went on about Team Madness and Kevin Nash. David was wearing black boots, red kneepads, and red and black tights. The entire group of lumberjacks immediately entered the ring and attacked Nash. Anderson supposedly had something in his eyes, so he couldn't keep up with what was going on in the ring. By time he turned around, David had the Figure-Four Leglock on Nash, but Nash kicked out of the pin when it was made. Nash then started to domiante David. Anderson tried to take at shot at Nash, but Nash punched him out. The rest of the lumberjacks entered the ring again and Nash fought off everyone. The taser was given to David, but Nash took it away, and stunned everyone. He picked up Gorgeous George and headed to the back with the taser in his hands. No one could help out. Torrie smiled and left with Nash to the backstage area. As George screamed on top of Nash's shoulders, Nash and Torrie put her in a black car. Meanwhile, in the rearview mirror of the black hummer, Sting's face was shown. Nash saw the hummer, and it wasn't sure if he saw Sting, but he took off in the black car. Savage and Sid tried to save for George, but Nash and Torrie were long gone with her.
