WCW Monday Nitro Report - October 18, 1999

• Backstage, Sid Vicious arrived in his limousine with men who appeared to be his lawyers.

• Juventud Guerrera and Evan Karagias went to a No-Contest.
- Juventud Guerrera and Evan Karagias were wrestling an excellent match, when Bret Hart made his way out. Hart said he was told he couldn't have any airtime for an interview, so he would make the time himself. He said he left the WWF two years ago to fight Hulk Hogan to win the Heavyweight Title. He said he had only been lied to. He said two "new" guys showed up, along with politics, and told him he would not have his title shot. Sting then made his way out. He said that if Hart could join everyone in the real world, he would realize promises do not come true. He said Hart talked about legacy, but he (Sting) had his legacy "right here" (he did a crotch chop and his words were bleeped out). He said everyone had been screwed in the business. Sting then announced he would give Hart a shot at the title on the show. He finished off by saying it would be show time.

• Tony Schiavone promised a Nitro like never before, with Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera now part of the company's creative team.

• Backstage, Mike Tenay interviewed Sid Vicious, who was wearing a suit. Vicious was told by his legal team not to discuss the Goldberg. Vicious vowed to have the world know what would happen later in the night.

• Backstage, Goldberg arrived in his limousine.

• Disco Inferno defeated Vampiro with the Chart Buster, to retain the Cruiserweight Title.
- Disco Infernos' Halloween Havoc opponent, Lash LeRoux, did color commentary. Disco was distracted, which let Vampiro take the early advantage. Disco then took the win out of nowhere in less than a minute with the Chart Buster. Afterwards, LeRoux attacked Disco.

• Backstage, Larry Zbyszko asked Goldberg for his comments on Sid Vicious. Goldberg said he didn't like or trust Sid. He said if Sid brought his lawyers, or for that matter, the President, he didn't care. He said it would be the Jackhammer and 1-2-3 at the PPV, which was all that mattered.

• Another vignette aired of Dustin Runnels. His face was clearly shown in this one.

• Backstage, Mike Tenay interviewed Madusa about her New York Evening Gown Match with Mona that would take place later in the show. Madusa asked Tenay how he felt standing in a locker room. She said it was not her, it was fluff job. She said it was for people who wanted to get somewhere quickly. Madusa said she didn't know whose idea it was to place her in such a match. She said she was finished and there probably wouldn't be no evening gown match.

• Buff Bagwell made his way out to interrupt the Nitro Girl search update. He told the current finalists to step aside. Gene Okerlund asked Bagwell why he was out. Bagwell said there were two new sheriffs in town who thought Buff and the stuff. Bagwell said he was the chosen one and it was all over the Internet. He vowed to take WCW back to the promiseland. He said he wouldn't forget about all the little people. He told Okerlund to step aside to watch how he (Bagwell) would shine like a star.

• Backstage, Larry Zbyszko asked Mona about the New York Evening Gown Match. Mona said it was a wonderful opportunity for her to elevate to the top. She said she never had an evening gown match, but wore one during her matches. She said she was ready to strip off Mona's gown.

• Backstage, Kimberly searched for David Flair.

• Backstage, Sid Vicious spoke to his legal team about each of their positions, the legal fees, and the job that they were supposed to do. Sid wanted them to address him as "Mr. Vicious."

• Backstage, Goldberg taped-up his wrists.

• The Filthy Animals (Konnan, Rey Mysterio, Jr.) defeated Harlem Heat, to capture the Tag Team Titles.
- As the match went on, Eddie Guerrero and Kidman, along with Torrie Wilson, who was in a fur coat, made their ways down. The First Family watched the match from the backstage area. As the match went on, Booker brawled with Kidman and Guerrero on the outside. Meanwhile, Konnan and Rey Mysterio, Jr. were quick to pick up the win after they both pinned down Stevie Ray.

• Backstage, Kimberly came up to David Flair. She said she had been looking for him everywhere. She noticed that David had been having some woman difficultuies lately. She said David had never had a woman like her. Kimberly said DDP was out of town and she was lonely. She gave him her hotel room key and told David to stop by later in the night. David was surprised, but shook his head "no."

• Backstage, Mike Tenay interviewed The Filthy Animals. Konnan said there would be a party in Las Vegas at Halloween Havoc. Mysterio said it was only the beginning. The First Family popped into the picture. Jimmy Hart said Hugh Morrus and Brian Knobs had the right for Tag Team Titles shots at the Halloween Havoc PPV. Konnan told them they needed to party first and then they would decide.

• Meng defeated Hugh Morrus (w/Jimmy Hart) with the Tongan Death Grip.
- As the match went on, The Outsiders sat in their front row seats with their women. Meanwhile, it appeared Hugh Morrus was dominating Meng with top rope maneuvers. Meng then immediately got up and caught Morrus with the Tongan Death Grip for the win.

• Backstage, Sid Vicious and his legal team made their ways to the ring. Goldberg watched on from his television monitor.

• Sid Vicious Interview.
- Sid Vicious called out his legal team. He said he warned Goldberg. He said he was a man of his word and integrity. He told Goldberg there was no turning back. Sid ripped-up the contract that set the United States Tite match between he and Goldberg at the Halloween Havoc PPV. Goldberg entered and speared one of Sid's attorneys, but once he turned around, he was nailed by Sid with a boot to the face and then powerbombed. Sid placed the ripped up pieces of the contract on Goldberg. He said he would kick Goldberg's ass at the PPV. The Outsiders laughed at Goldberg. Goldberg decked the both of them. Security got between to separate both sides. The Outsiders were escorted out of the building.

• Backstage, Mike Tenay interviewed Bret Hart about his Heavyweight Title match with Sting. Hart said you never know what would happen in WCW. He said he didn't know what the deal was with Sting, but whether he was a changed man or not, he would take the title shot. He said he would win the title. He said he would give Hulk Hogan a title shot at the PPV if he were to win it. Sting then attacked Hart. Both brawled, until security separated both.

• Backstage, The Outsiders didn't want to leave the building.

• Backstage, Goldberg searched for Sid Vicious. He angrily asked a crew member where he was.

• Berlyn (w/Bodyguard) defeated Rick Steiner via Pinfall.
- As the match went on, Brad Armstrong made his way down. Rick Steiner held him back with a chokehold. Berlyn's bodyguard attempted to hit Armstrong with a chair, but ended up nailing Steiner. It benefited Berlyn anyway, as he made the pin on Steiner. Afterwards, Steiner attacked Armstrong all the way to the backstage area.

• Backstage, The Outsiders had snuck back into the building. Kevin Nash pulled out some Nyquil since he was ill. They jokingly searched for Goldberg.
• At the Marriot Hotel, Kimberly arrived. She walked into her room. Someone was in the shower. She asked, who she thought was David Flair, if he was ready. She said she was, as she took off her rain coat. She pulled out some pills that would put David asleep. Ric Flair instead popped out of the restroom. He jumped on the bed and said Kimberly had him instead.

• Backstage, Goldberg looked for Sid Vicious. He bumped into The Insane Clown Posse. They both told him Sid had left, so Goldberg knocked out the both of them.

• Backstage, Larry Zbyszko interviewed Lex Luger, along with Elizabeth, about his upcoming match with Goldberg. A nervous Package said he had been through it all and said he was ready.

• Backstage, Mona and Madusa geared up for their New York Evening Gown Match.

• Kidman (w/Torrie Wilson) defeated David Flair with the Shooting Star Press.
- David Flair was enraged with Kidman. He was surprisingly dominate in the match, until he was distracted by Torrie Wilson, who teased the removal of her fur coat. Kidman then caught David with a facebuster and took the win with the Shooting Star Press. The rest of The Filthy Animals made their ways in to attacked David. Guerrero nailed him with a springboard senton backsplash, and Rey Mysterio, Jr. jumped on him with the bronco buster.

• Backstage, The Outsiders searched for Goldberg. They asked Gene Okerlund where if he had seen him. Okerlund pointed them in the direction, saying, "right down there." Scott Hall asked, "Down where?"

• Backstage, Ric Flair had returned. He asked where the party was at.

• New York Evening Gown Match: Mona defeated Madusa.
- Madusa wasn't really wearing an evening gown, but rather a skirt. Mona argued with Madusa, and took her down. Both wrestled a regular style match and didn't go for the gowns immediately. The referee was knocked out and Madusa tried to take the win by pinning Mona. She then nailed Mona with a chair. She went to the outside and threw Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan's papers around. Once she recovered, she went to the outside and tore off Madusa's skirt. Madusa said she didn't want the evening gown match and said everyone in the back could kiss her ass.

• Backstage, Sting wandered around by his locker room, took a drink of water, and headed to the ring. Bret Hart also made his way down.

• Sting defeated Bret Hart with the Scorpian Deathlock submission, to retain the Heavyweight Title.
- Bret Hart and Sting wrestled in and out of the ring. At one point, Sting hit the Stinger Splash. Sting dominated, until Hart slowly gained some momentum after getting out of a sleeper hold. After nailing Sting with a piledriver, he strapped him in the Sharpshooter, but Sting made it to the ropes. Hart put his knees up when Sting went for a big splash, at which point Elizabeth made her way out. The Total Package was then out with a baseball bat, as Hart once again set up Sting for the Sharpshooter. Hart fought off two men, as the Elizabeth distracted the referee. Package then nailed Hart in the chin with the bat. Sting set up Hart in the Scorpian Deathlock. The referee immediately called for the bell.

• Backstage, David Flair told his father that Kidman beat him up. Flair said that was impossible. He asked David where Torrie Wilson was because they had a party to go to. Flair demanded to know more. David said The Filthy Animals all attacked him. Flair went nuts and said he and David had work to do.

• Backstage, The Outsiders continued their search for Goldberg. They put the Villano's mask on. They called out for "Senior Goldberg."

• La Parka defeated Buff Bagwell via Pinfall.
- Buff Bagwell came out in a bad mood. Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan said there was something wrong with him. He told the referee he had to leave, but wrestled the match anyway. Bagwell didn't put much effort into the match. He did his strut, but basically mocked himself while doing it. He then asked La Parka to kick him in the back, which Parka did for the win. WCW wrestlers watched from the backstage area, laughing. Bagwell said on Heenan's headset, "Hey, [Vince] Russo, can you find anyone else to beat me? Why dont you come down and beat me big man?" Out came Jeff Jarrett. He clocked Bagwell with a guitar. He said Bagwell could talk about strokes all he wanted. Jarrett asked himself how was it last night, he was in Cleveland, wrestling a PPV, but now, he was in Philadelphia on Nitro. He said, "Hey, Buff, I have your stroke right here."

• Backstage, security blocked The Outsiders from going any further through the locker room area. It appeared Kevin Nash threw up.

• Three-Way Elimination: Chavo Guerrero, Jr. defeated Eddie Guerrero and Perry Saturn (w/Shane Douglas) with the Tornado DDT.
- Shane Douglas, who had a big cast and sling on his arm, did color commentary. As the match went on, Perry Saturn lifted up Chavo Guerrero, Jr. from the top rope, who took down Eddie Guerrero with a superplex. The maneuver, however, went wrong, as Chavo landed on his neck. He was okay, though. The Filthy Animals ran down and got in Douglas' face. They got a cheapshot on Saturn. Douglas was not pleased, since he couldn't help due to his injury. After Chavo took Saturn down with a suplex, Guerrero finished him off with the Frog Splash. Out of nowhere, Chavo took out Guerrero with a springboard Tornado DDT for the win. Afterwards, The Filthy Animals attacked Chavo.

• Backstage, Goldberg and Lex Luger pumped up for their match.

• Hardcore Match: Norman Smiley defeated Horace via Pinfall.
- The Hardcore Division returned. Horace manhandled Norman Smiley, who squealed like a little girl. However, after he missed Smiley with a chairshot and went into a table, Smiley made the pinfall.

• Backstage, Ric Flair made his way toward the ring.

• Ric Flair Interview.

- Ric Flair said he went to the Marriot Hotel to have some fun from Kimberly, only to find out upon his return that The Filthy Animals attacked David. He said it pissed him off. He said they didn't have to talk about anything, but reality. He said wrestling was Ric Flair. Flair said his son didn't need his help, and could do it on his own. He then called out The Filthy Animals. They ran in, along with Torrie Wilson, and attacked Flair. The crowd booed them. Mysterio gave Flair a bronco buster. David ran in, but was outnumbered. They took Flair's coat, money, rings, watch, shoes, socks, belt, etc.

• Backstage, The Total Package made his way down to the ring. He went into Elizabeth's locker room, only to find her knocked out on a floor, with a broken guitar next to her.

• Goldberg defeated The Total Package with the Jackhammer.
- Goldberg went right down the aisle to go at it with The Total Package. In the ring, Package suplexed Goldberg. Goldberg was right back up, however. He later went for the spear, but Package moved out of the way, causing Goldberg to ram into the ringpost. Package had the advantage. Goldberg was later on top, at which point the referee was knocked out. The Outsiders appeared near the entrance-way. Sting ran in and clocked Goldberg with a baseball bat. Bret Hart limped down to the ring and brawled with Sting. He broke the bat across Sting and strapped him in the Sharpshooter on the inside. Package made the save for Sting, as punched Hart down. Package then set up Hart for the Torture Rack, but was speared. Goldberg then followed-up with the Jackhammer for the win.
