WCW Monday Nitro Report - October 11, 1999

• The show kicked off with a three-bell salute to the late Robert Marella. An emotional Bobby Heenan paid his respects to the man known as Gorilla Monsoon.

• Outside of the arena, Chris Benoit and Bret Hart arrived. The Total Package, along with Elizabeth, taunted Hart. Security separated both sides.

• Backstage, Dean Malenko asked Perry Saturn what exactly went down the previous Monday. Saturn said he went out to stop Shane Douglas and ended up defending himself from Rey Mysterio, Jr. Saturn said he needed Malenko's trust. He hugged Malenko, who remained skeptical.

• Perry Saturn defeated Rey Mysterio, Jr. by Disqualification.
- Before the match, Perry Saturn tried to apologize to Rey Mysterio, Jr. He offered his hand, but Mysterio just took him down with an armdrag takeover. As the mtach went on, Mysterio hit the bronco buster, but Saturn remained on top. Saturn later went for the Death Valley Driver, but Mysterio countered with a nearfall. Both exchanged a series of pin combinations and continued with back and forth action. Shane Douglas made his way down. Malenko stopped him before he pulled out an object from under his elbow pad. Kidman then ran in the ring, at which point the referee called for the bell. Malenko was in the ring with The Filthy Animals. Kidman challenged Douglas to a tag team match and then argued with them to the locker room area.

• Backstage, Ric Flair, along with Arn Anderson, watched a video package on Meng that had aired. Flair complimented Meng, while Anderson brushed his teeth.

• Disco Inferno defeated Kaz Hayashi with the Last Dance.
- Disco Inferno dominated Kaz Hayashi, until Hayashi came back with a huracanrana. After a Russian Legsweep, Disco took the win with the Last Dance.

• Meng defeated Konnan with the Tongan Death Grip.
- Meng overpowered Konnan. Konnan later came back with a boot to the face. However, when going for a sunset flip, Meng countered with the Tongan Death Grip for the win.

• Backstage, Berlyn and his bodyguard attacked Brad Armstrong from behind. Armstrong got up, grabbed Berlyn's cane, and took a shot at the bodyguard. Security separated the two sides.

• The Outsiders were back with their alcoholic beverages, front row seats, and women. Bobby Heenan went over to interview them. He asked Scott Hall and Kevin Nash when they planned on returning. Nash said he was still retired, while Hall said his back was sore from carrying the company on his back. He said they came to watch Goldberg. Heenan brought up that they left early the previous week. He said everyone wanted to see them in tag team action. Nash wished Dusty Rhodes a happy birthday and said they were getting the band back together. Heenan asked for a return date. Nash joked, saying it would be July of 2012.

• Goldberg defeated Horace with the Jackhammer.
- As Goldberg made his way with security, he was taunted by Sid Vicious. Goldberg just laughed at Sid and said, "Watch this. You might learn something."Goldberg was dominant in the beginning, until Horace was on top after throwing Goldberg into a steel staircase. Goldberg soon overpowed some punches, hit the spear, followed-by the Jackhammer for the finish.

• Hulk Hogan Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Gene Okerlund first brought up the rumors of Hulk Hogan leaving WCW. Hogan said it made him sick to his stomach so much that he didn't want to come out to talk. He said he would kick Sting's ass one more time. The crowd was booing Hogan, who seemed in a bit of a bad mood. He said when he finished, the red and yellow would run wild. He said he would do what he wanted to do in the wrestling business. Hogan said he would train, say one damn prayer, and kick Sting's ass. Hogan finished off the interview by saying, "I hope you guys are listening in the back, because at Halloween Havoc, I'm going to get the last word." Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, and Okerlund what that could mean.

• Backstage, David Flair wondered where Torrie Wilson was.

• Street Fight: Brian Knobs (w/Jimmy Hart, Hugh Morrus) defeated Stevie Ray (w/Booker T.) via Pinfall.
- Stevie Ray used a chair and garbage can on Brian Knobs. As the match went on, Hugh Morrus and Jimmy Hart attempted to interfere, but Booker T. pushed Hart out of the way and took out Morrus down the aisle with a chair. Meanwhile, Ray had the win after a garbage can shot on Ray, but Hart came in and nailed Ray with the same garbage can. Knobs then made the pinfall.

• Revolution Interview.
- Shane Douglas demanded the crowd sit down and pay attention, because The Revolution was going to air its dirty laundry. Douglas then called out other Revolution members. Douglas asked Malenko why did Perry Saturn have to take a disqualification victory over Rey Mysteriio, Jr. earlier the night when he could have had a clear-cut victory, just like Malenko got the previous week. Malenko told Douglas not to talk to him about a clear-cut victories. Douglas then asked Benoit what was the deal with Chris Benoit accepting a match with Bret Hart. Douglas said he should stand by The Revolution. Benoit told Douglas not to order him around. He said he knew The Hart's for over 15 years, and without them, there would be no Crippler, and thus, no Revolution. Benoit then took off his Revolution t-shirt and walked away. Saturn then argued with Douglas over Benoit, while Malenko told Saturn and Douglas he would take things back to the way they originally planned it. A confused Douglas was left alone.

• Brad Armstrong defeated La Parka via Pinfall.
- As the match went on, Berlyn made his way down. La Parka accidently knocked out the referee. Berlyn entered the ring, but Brad Armstrong knocked him out. Meanwhile, Berlyn's bodyguard took out Parka with a chair. He rolled Parka back in in the ring where Berlyn nailed Armtrong with his Reversed Neckbreaker. Armstrong ended up taking the win after his arm landed on the chest of Parka.

• Backstage, Curt Hennig, along with Curly Bill, was bragging to Torrie Wilson about his music records. David Flair said he needed to talk to Wilson. David continued to interrupt, so Hennig slapped him around a little.

• Berlyn (w/Bodyguard) defeated Norman Smiley with the Reversed Neckbreaker.

• Ric Flair Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund.
- Ric Flair said he was told earlier in the night that David Flair was jumped. Flair then asked if it was Torrie Wilson jumped on him, but it was Curt Hennig. Flair said they should just leave he and his son alone. Flair, calling Hennig, Mr. Perfect, said he would work up a sweat on Hennig later in the night. He asked Gene Okerlund if Kimbelry Page was tired of the two-time Heavyweight Champion, Diamond Dallas Page. Flair said maybe she would lik ea shot at the 14-time champion.

• Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn (w/Shane Douglas) defeated Kidman and Rey Mysterio, Jr. via Pinfall.
- As the match went on, Perry Saturn had the pinfall, but Dean Malenko interrupted the count. Later, Rey Mysterio, Jr. went for the bronco buster, but ended up landing on Saturn's foot. Malenko was in for only a minute when Saturn tagged himself in. Malenko was later in, and had the win with the Texas Cloverleaf, but Saturn tagged himself in once again. Malenko was tagged back in, but soon had to make a hot tag to his partner. The Filthy Animals had the win with an elevated Huracanrana by Mysterio, but Malenko made the save. As Mysterio and Malenko battled on the outside, Kidman went for the Shooting Star Press on Saturn on the inside. Shane Douglas knocked him off, however, and then thew a chain to Saturn behind the referee's back. Saturn used the weapon for another Revolution victory. The replay of the finish was shown on the big screen. An upset Malenko tore apart his Revolution t-shirt and left (he and Benoit are heading to Japan).

• Sid Vicious defeated Van Hammer with the Powerbomb, to retain the United States Title.
- After the referee was knocked out, Rick Steiner ran in and nailed Van Hammer with the Steiner Bulldog. Sid Vicious then finished off Hammer with the Powerbomb.

• Ric Flair defeated Curt Hennig (w/Curly Bill) via Pinfall.
- Ric Flair and Curt Hennig brawled in and out of the ring. As the match went on, Flair strapped Hennig in the Figure-Four Leglock. Hennig made it to the ropes. Flair later knocked Curly Bill off the top ropes. Hennig attempted to make a pinfall by using Bill and the ropes as leverage. However, he was unsuccessful of at least three pinfall attempts. David then made his way down and knocked out Bill. Flair then made the pinfall, using the ropes as leverage.

• Bret Hart and Chris Benoit defeated The Total Package and Rick Steiner by Disqualification.
- As Bret Hart and The Total Package battled on the outside of the ring, Chris Benoit had Rick Steiner in the Crippler Crossface on the inside. Package ran back in and made the save. The heels began to work on Hart, until Benoit was back in. He hit Steiner with the Diving Headbutt, while Hart took Package down with a Russian legsweep. Benoit had the pinfall, but Sid Vicious interfered. He took Benoit down with a Powerbomb, while Package punished Hart with the Torture Rack. Goldberg ran in and speared Steiner. Sid, who Goldberg couldn't touch, taunted Goldberg. Goldberg pretended to walk away, but speared Sid.
