David Flair with Daphne & Crowbar defeated The Revolution and The Filthy Animals in a three way dance to retain the WCW Tag Title
-Shane Douglas joined the commentators at ringside. The match began with The Revolution and The Filthy Animals in the ring. When Flair and Crowbar ran in, all six began to go at it. The Revolution seemed to be taking control until Flair got his crowbar. The Revolution quickly left the ring, but while Malenko attacked Rey Mysterio on the outside, Saturn seemed to be leaving. Saturn leaped from the balcony on to Mysterio (at least 15 feet), whom Malenko had placed on a table. Flair was able to cover Saturn as he tried to recover from his fall, and got the pin.
Commissioner’s Interview
-Terry Funk, Arn Anderson, Larry Zbyszko, and Paul Orndorff came out together. Funk began by telling Nash that he was a dead man walking. He called his group the Old Age Outlaws. AA said he would stalk the nWo around and get some revenge tonight. Larry said that the people were looking at tradition. He said that the nWo wouldn’t make it to the real 21st century unless it was over their dead body. Orndorff talked about the powerplant men. He said they sweat to keep up the tradition, and tonight they would take a chunk out of the nWo ‘s ass. nWo entered with the group of women. JJ was wearing a Titan Jersey that seemed to get some heat. Nash said he was going to buy some suits since he wants to look good as commissioner. Funk said his role was to make every match, and tonight JJ would be in three matches (a wrestling match, a bunkhouse brawl, and a cage match). Jarrett then made a comment about the Titans-Bills game and got a lot of heat. Funk said that he would make Chris Benoit the special ref for JJ’s matches. Funk then said that Nash and Hart would compete for the Title tonight, and if they didn’t fight hard, they would be suspended for a year. Big Poppa Pump got on the mic and was censored for at least a minute. (Pretty funny.) Funk then told Steiner that he would was his mouth out with soap.
DDP and Buff Interview
-Mean Gene conducted the interview in the middle of the ring. Neither man was allowed to touch each other for five minutes or they would be fined $50,000. DDP told Gene that he wanted to do this man to man, and Gene obliged by leaving. The two attempted to get the other to break the five minute time barrier. Buff asked DDP how’s his wife? Buff said he was just friends with Kimberly, but he does see a sparkle in her eye. DDP said that Buff was suppose to be a friend, but he betrayed him. The two argued over whether Buff did anything. When the clock ran out, DDP asked Buff about Kimberly’s birthmark, and Buff told him that everyone in the back has seen it. Page hit Buff. On the big screen DDP was distracted by Kimberly’s image, and Buff attacked him with a police baton.
George ‘the Animal’ Steele defeated Jeff Jarrett in a Bunkhouse Brawl Match with Chris Benoit as referee
-Steele began by throwing several trash cans in the ring. Steele got several shots in on Jarrett. Jarrett managed to get a guitar shot on Steele but before he could get a pin, AA planted him with a spinebuster. Benoit pulled Steele over Jarrett and counted a quick three.
Stevie Ray interview
-Stevie Ray, who was surprisingly good on the mic, said that Harlem Heat came to WCW 7 years ago. He said everything changed when Booker T won a singles title. He said Booker T was a sellout. He said Souled Out was named after Booker T. Booker T and Midnight came to the ring. Booker said they were brothers. Booker said he would never wrestle his brother, but when Booker turned around, Stevie slapped him across the face. Booker said he had a fight at Souled Out.
Tito Santana defeated Jeff Jarrett in a Dungeon Match with Chris Benoit as referree
-JJ shoved Ted Washington of the Buffalo Bills before he entered the ring. Santana took the early control with a hip toss and a drop kick. Santana began to work on Santana’s legs. Jarrett took control until he and Benoit began to shove each other. Ted Washington climbed to the ring apron, and shoved JJ into Orndorff. Orndorff applied the piledriver and Santana got the cover and the pin.
Tank Abbott interview
-Abbott said Flynn would find out what a tank was like on Sunday. He then called out Doug Dillinger. Dillinger came out and tried to calm Tank. As Tank went after Dillinger, Dillinger hit him and the two began to wrestle. Security entered and cuffed Tank. Jerry Flynn ran in and took a shot on Abbott.
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka defeated Jeff Jarrett in a Steel Cage Match
-JJ said that just like the Titans, he was the Chosen One. He also said he had taken out Benoit. JJ took the early control, throwing Snuka into the cage several times. Benoit came down to ringside, but JJ would not let him in the ring. Benoit finally entered and attacked JJ. Benoit dominated JJ with several moves. Benoit attempted to climb the cage, but JJ pulled him down over the turnbuckles. Zbyzsko and Orndorff entered and attacked JJ. When JJ was left lying in the middle of the ring, Snuka and Benoit climbed to the top of the cage. Snuka landed a splash from the top of the cage, and Benoit followed with his flying head butt. Snuka then covered and got the pin.
Bret Hart and Kevin Nash went to a No Contest; Bret Hart retained the WCW Heavyweight Title
-The match went back and forth, with both men putting in an honest effort. Nash went for a chair at ringside, but AA ran down and hit Nash with a pipe. AA told the ref to leave, and he and Bret stared at each other. Sid ran to ringside. He kicked the chair in Bret’s hands and it hit Bret in the head. Sid hit a powerbomb. Funk then ran to ringside with a burning branding iron. Funk branded Nash as the show went off the air.
