The show opened with Joey Styles in the ring and a Taz interview. Taz ran down Sabu and Steven Prazak said the unification Title match was unique. Taz said he was going after Sabu's jaw. For those that don't know, Sabu's jaw was already fractured and the previous week in ECW, Sabu was wearing a bandage on it. Taz said after tonight, he would still be Heavyweight Champion, but would also get the FTW Title back.
These two have had some awesome matches in their short history with ECW. Tajiri got control early on. Both wrestlers showed thier skill early. Tajiri ran suicide planchas right over the ropes onto Super Crazy. Crazy hit the ramp with a headscissors takeover. Firemans carry and Tajiri gets planted. Three moonsaults by Super Crazy, but not enough to put away Tajiri. Super Crazy hammered away with a 10 count of punches on Tajiri. Tajiri with a kick to the small of the back. Springboard moonsault for a two count by Tajiri. Tajiri with some more big kicks to Crazy. Crazy was down. Crazy missed a moonsault. Tajiri was rolled up by Crazy but kicked out on two. Crazy went for a springboard but slipped on the top turnbuckle and out come the chants of, "You F*cked Up." Tajiri went for a dragon suplex, but Crazy went low. Crazy hit a powerbomb and then got a two count. Super Crazy got the win out of nowhere, which according to Styles ended their feud in ECW. ... Following the match, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and Bill Alfonso discussed their matches later in the show. RVD would take on Jerry Lynn for the Television Title and Sabu would take on Taz for the FTW and Heavyweight Title.
Steve Corino went in the ring, talking about how he was better than people and how he never used steroids to look god. He bashed Yoshihiro Tajiri and Super Crazy, saying he was better than them. He challenged anyone from the back to come out and out came the "Sid" chants. It wasn't Sid who came out by rather Balls Mahoney. Big frog splash by Mahoney, but Corino kicked out of that. Mahoney up top, but he missed the New Jersey Jam on Corino. Corino tried to be hardcore. Corino nailed Mahoney with a Superkick. Mahoney nailed Corino hard with a big chair shot and then made the cover to getthe three count. Corino was still down as they rolled a promo for some of the matches later on in the show.
Antifaz Del Norte hit the ring and out came Little Guido riding the shoulders of Big Sal E. Graziano. Antifaz hit a cork screw plancha on Guido outside of the ring. When they got back into the ring, Guido started to go to work with some chops on Antifaz. Guido hit a side italian leg sweep from the second turnbucle. Clothesline by Guido, and then a two count. Antifaz with a dropkick to the back. Antifaz on the outside and Big Sal put him through a table. Antifaz rolled back in and Guido locked on the Sicilian Crab and tapped out. Smothers and Rich then came out and attacked Guido and Sal E. Sal E. then ran them off to the back.
Arm wringer by Lynn with a one count on Van Dam. Fans chanted "RVD, RVD." High cross body by Lynn on RVD after some back and forth moves and counters. Inverted atomic drop by Van Dam. Van Dam slowed down the pace. Clothesline by Lynn and that sent Van Dam to the outside. Lynn hurled himself onto Van Dam who was outside of the ring. Lynn into the ring now. Van Dam sent up and over into the first row by Lynn. Springboard into a high cross body by Lynn who was impressing everyone thus far. Lynn dropped Van Dam onto the guardrail after RVD went for a springboard. Springboard plancha off the guardrail by Van Dam. Lynn clutched his right knee. Backbreaker by Van Dam and Fonzie put a chair in the ring now. Van Dam with some kidney shots on Lynn. Inverted surfboard now. Lynn launched into the air and he came crashing down on a steel chair. RVD missed a monkeyflip. Lynn almost got the three. Rocker Dropper on RVD. An "Almost ... a NEW F'N Show" chant goes out. Van Dam missed a split legged moonsault. A bunch of near falls and roll throughs. German suplex and another close count by RVD. Swinging DDT from the turnbuckle by Lynn through a table and neither wrestler was moving. Tumbling senton splash by Van Dam. Awesome match so far. Tornado DDT countered to a northern lights, no DDT by Lynn. Cover ... two count. The bell rang and apparently it was a time limit draw. Finnigan (the referee) wanted to give Lynn the win, but Lynn wanted five more minutes, as chants go out. Finnigan decided to let the match continued for five more minutes. Piledriver by Lynn. Lynn was winning alot of people over in Asbury. Van Daminator in the middle of the ring and a Frog Splash to let RVD retain the Television Title. It was announced the two would battle it out again for the title at the May PPV.
A clip was shown of porno star, Jasmine St. Claire. Following the clip, she was in the ring with Lance Wright, and cut a promo. She went on to say she was the new queen of wrestling, which brought out Francine. Francine came in and knocked out Claire and gave Wright a low-blow.
Mustafa came down to the ring to face New Jack. Natural Born Killers began to play and Asbury threw the X up. New Jack with a huge garbage can. Jack with a golf club and he hit Mustafa about 170 yards. New Jack used tons of stuff. Garbage can to the face of New Jack. Metal pan for New Jack. Mustafa taking the advantage on his former partner. New Jack took an elbow. New Jack got himself busted open. The music cut off and they went brawling in the crowd. New Jack head first into the wall. Mustafa pounded on New Jack's bloody head and dropped an elbow. Chair across the back of the neck now by New Jack and Mustafa is down and New Jack is setting up a table. Mustafa on the table and New Jack has electrical tape. New Jack taped Mustafa to the table. New Jack in the balcony 20 feet up. New Jack just about killed Mustafa through that table. A doctor came out. New Jack and Mustafa were helped back to the ring to finish this one off. New Jack's music began to play again. New Jack made the cover for the win. Out came The Dudley Boyz to attack New Jack. D-Von stomped down on New Jack. Joel with a pathetic slap on New Jack. Gertner grabbed the microphone. Joel said he was not a "playa," but he just crushed alot. Gertner did his usual stuff with his usually funny lines. Joel "Mama said knock you out and I just did" Gertner. Buh Buh Ray Dudley on the microphone. He called New Jack old news. Bubba said ECW didn't have the guts to get a tag team to face them, so out came Spike and Nova. Spike and Nova were killed. Spike was gorilla pressed into row number two. 3D Dudley Death Drop on Nova. Bob Artese saved Nova, only to get attacked. 3D on Artese. Bubba back on the microphone, saying there was no one left. "We have destroyed all of your heroes." He called the fans white trash. They challenged the folks in the crowd. It was time for Sid and out came the Judge Jeff Jones. Buh Buh insulted Sid and then The Dudleys attacked him. A double team. Double clothesline by Sid and then a double chokeslam. D-Von was powerbomb is coming. D-Von was put on a stretcher. Sid choked D-Von and Spike was in the ring after being passed around the crowd. D-Von went off the stretcher. Spike with a springboard legdrop on Buh Buh. Sid threw the stretcher on D-Von. Spike with the Acid Drop on Buh Buh. Spike with a cover, three count. Side put a powerbomb on Spike. Powerbomb off the ramp through the table and to the floor.
Justin Credible and Lance Storm came out. Douglas and Dreamer then came out with Francine. We had a new ring announcer for the rest of the night, as Bob Artese was out of there after the the 3-D by The Dudley Boyz. Douglas wanted Credible to start. Lockup, kneelift, and right by Storm. Clothesline by Storm. Neckbreaker by Dreamer. Douglas in and Douglas with an inverted rolling necksnap. Credible in. Going back and forth. Rolling suplex. Credible up to and caught into an inverted atomic drop and then a flapjack. Dreamer and Storm in. Douglas in, ran, and decked Credible. Dropkick in the corner by Storm. Douglas into the turnbuckle. Sliding dropkick missed. Credible went groinfirst into the post. Tag to Dreamer. Storm with a piscotto. Storm got whipped into the rail. Douglas and Credible brawled on the floor. Dreamer Driver on Storm in the ring and a two count. Credible and Storm yanked Dreamer out of the corner. Jawbreaker by Dreamer now. Credible to the second rope and a forearm drop. Double suplex on the ramp. Storm in. Storm suplexed Dreamer and sliding dropkicks Douglas. Francine had a ladder. Dreamer had it now. Dreamer had Credible on his shoulders and dropped him onto the ladder. Douglas with a flying bodypress on Storm for two count. Inverted Atomic Drop on Storm by Douglas. Whip by Storm. Dreamer DDTs Credible on top of Storm. Francine hits Credible with the Singapore cane and then Douglas with a Pittsburgh plunge into an inside cradle on Credible for the three count for he and Dreamer to take the win.
Out came Sabu with his jaw taped up. Sabu from Bombay, Michigan. Taz made it a Falls Count Anywhere match. Sabu dived at Taz, but Taz moved. Waistlock by Sabu, reversed. Sabu blocked the crossfaces and did a takeover. Crossfaces by Taz and a stomp. Boot by Taz. Sabu with a springboard leg lariat for a two count. Sabu with a slingshot somersault legdrop for two. Taz to the floor. Taz over the rail. Sabu set up a chair. Double jump plancha, but he jumped right into a chair shot by Taz. The match spilled into the crowd now. Going up to the bleachers now and a chop by Sabu. Slugfest in the crowd. Chairshot by Sabu. Taz no sells basically. Taz got whipped into the guardrail to put both men are on the ramp. Springboard plancha off the ramp. Now back on the ramp, Taz tossed Sabu off the ramp and into the crowd. Back into the ring. A table came ringside now via the crowd. It was bridged from the ring apron to the steel guardrail. Sabu got belly-to-belly suplexed over the top rope and through the table so hard, the camera went out. Taz dropped Sabu's injured chin on the rail. Sabu bleeding from his jaw. Sabu off the ramp again. Fonzie pissing Taz off, not a good move. Taz ran Bill Alsfonso off. Sabu dragged now into the ring by Taz. Sabu kicked Taz and then hit him with a Rocker Dropper for a tw count. Frankensteiner by Sabu off the top rope. Another Frankensteiner attempt, but it got turned into a powerbomb by Taz. Styles called it a "Taznado Bomb." Now to the outside, Sabu reversed a whip into the rail. Sabu tried a sunset powerbomb to the floor, but didn't hit it. Taz on a table. Sabu into the ring, going up top. Splash through the Table with a cover, but only a two count. Arabian Facebuster by Sabu. Sabu made a cover by Taz's foot was on the rope. Sabu with a chairshot. Sabu with a triple jump moonsault, but then only a two Count. Head and arm Tazplex. Now Sabu sprung off again and a legdrop onto Taz. Taz with a Tazplex now. Belly-to-belly Tazplex from the top now. Sabu got up and a table was coming into play. Taz set the table in the corner of the ring. Taz prepared Sabu for that Tazmission Tazplex into the table, possibly to break Sabu's neck. Taz now with a dragon suplex through the table. Kick out somehow. Tazmission locked on Sabu. The arm being lifted up, once, twice, and for a third time. Taz held onto his World Title and became the new FTW Champion. Taz unified the belts. Taz wanted to shake Sabu's hand. They both shook hands and Joey Styles recapped the night.
