Weinman Mineral Museum

Again, I got the following information from the Chieftains Trail in Calhoun, Georgia.

Great mineral treasures were locked into the land beneath the mountains, which became the home to many Native Americans who used this gifts from nature in their everyday lives, as well as in ceremonial observances. The Museum is a showplace of these ancient treasures and is the only museum in the southeast dedicated solely to rocks, minerals, and fossils.

The Museum is located on I-75 near exit 126 at the intersection of Georgia 411. Open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday, and 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Sunday. Small admission fee. Group, student, AAA, and senior citizen rates are available. Phone (770)386-0576.
