Gavin came home from the hospital on August
28, 1997, at 5½
months old. Kane couldnt have been happier
(along with his
mom and dad of course!).
Kane and Gavin love each other immensely.
They really
compliment one another and would be lost
without eachother,
as I would be lost without them. For the
longest time,
Kane was the only one who could get Gavin to
really giggle.
Gavin had only been home a day or two, when
Kane started to
call him Gagak--not because he couldnt say
Gavin, because
he said it just fine...it was just his own
nick-name for
Gavin. It stuck. We all call him versions
of Gagak, and
his other nick-name--Bear. He is also called
Gak, Gavin
Gakino, Gackerbear,and Gavin E...and Kanes
nicknames
include Kane-bug,Honeybug, Sweet
Face.K-M-H-T,and Butchey.
They love to cuddle, and play together.
Kane
loves to help teach Gavin things. He is also
very
protective. Whenever Kane sees a baby, like
on tv, etc, he
says,"oh, what a cute baby! But not as cute
as our baby!
Gavin is the cutest!" and Gavin is already
quite the little
tag along. He thinks Kane is really cool,
better than
anything in the whole world, and he always
wants to be
right near Kane.(well, most of the time!)

This is Gavin's first night
home.
This is the first time we changed
Gavin's cannula
after he came home. He had been home for
about a week. It
was the first time we had ever seen our
beautiful baby's
face with NOTHING on it but his beautiful
smile.
