Moments

The Ghost of a Child

Questions

Hearts Of Sorrow

Moments

Life is but a moment,
that quickly passes by,
how many tears have we shed,
each time we've had to cry.

how the sound of laughter,
made us always smile inside,
and how the power of love,
made us blind,
and taught us how to care.

For each moment that passes,
is special in it's own way,
because there's always tomorrow,
a new and bright and sunny day.

The Ghost of a Child

The ghost of a young child
walks through the hallways of her mind
seeking out the memories so long ago
left behind.

Like the ghost in all legends
that haunt throughout time
doomed to walkd through the hallways
finding
no peace of mind.

what will it take
to lay this child to rest
to give this mind a peaceful life
to finish up the business
left undone so many years in the pass.

Then
the child will know
it wasn't the pain or sorrow she bore
that won at last
it was she
a mere child of four.

Questions

Peace within my soul,
is that to much to ask,
while I'm growing old.

With heavy heart,
I lay tonight,
fear inside that won't be quiet.

What comes in my dreams,
seems to be reality,
or could it be,
my fears,
that schemes against me.

Growing old,
what lays ahead,
questions, questions,
going through my head.

Hearts Of Sorrow

A shot rings out,
its sound echoes throughout eternity,
another child lies dead,
on a cold dark street that now seems,
unbeckoning.

To many hearts filled with sorrow,
a child's eyes filled with terror,
wondering if there will be,
another tomorrow,
a parent turns their head,
to hide tears and the fears,
that now dwell inside.

For tomorrow can never be promised,
to anyone,
as long as life is not held sacred,
by the one hand,
that holds a gun.
