The Qld State Championships have just been completed at the Chinchilla Aerodrome,
which is approx. 120 km SW of Kingaroy. Unfortunately only 4 competition days (of 7)
were available, though the good news (for us at least) is that there was
very little rain in the task area, thus drying the area out further for the
Kingaroy competition.
The speeds on the days we flew were generally above 100 km/h with speeds of
nearly 140 km/h achieved on day 2. One pilot even bettered 100 km/h without
his total energy tube which resided in the front of his car from rigging that
morning !
<p> The results for the State Championships are as follows; Open Class: 1st: Gary Brasher (Nimbus 3T) 2nd: Lars Zander (Kestral 17)
