Ista's Maverick wing is a motley crew of all sorts that is unified by one factor: being outstanding in their field. (Well, that and being incredibly good-looking). Weyrlingmasters, Wingleaders, Weyrleaders have all hailed from Maverick, whether in current status or bringing turns of precious experience to the table. We have women who can out-drink some of their male counterparts, find persuasion an art form, make frills look good and are able to shake their grooves all night long. Provided there's the right tempo. Albeit afraid of ferrets, there's an ex-Wingleader of a weyrling wing who stylizes the term 'homebody' all the while capable to keep his cool and still manage to look darn good doing it. We also boast those self-disciplined traditionalists who don't seem to indulge much with drink, women and fun, but can clean out a gambling table, define chivalry, save doomed fowl and read half a dozen scrolls all before retiring early for bed. Or perhaps there's the self-proclaimed, dedicated pretty-boy with more children than there are dragons in a Weyr with a soft-spot for tubers and alcohol that recently gave up being a Don Juan de Marco in favor of his one true love. Maverick has it all - the flair, the panache, the prestige, the good-looks and the commitment to make it one of Ista's finest fighting wings.
