Placebo's classic 1998 album still, eleven years later, sounds fresh and solid.
There is something timeless about this band's music, and especially Brian Molko's lyrics, that I think Without You I'm Nothing will be getting played in another eleven years.
Cynicsm worn like a badge of pride gives away Placebo's Britishness, while songwriting skills and genius lyrics make this album relatable to anyone, anywhere.
Standout tracks are pretty much the entire album, but the classic hit "Pure Morning", the fast rockers "Brick Shithouse" and "Scared of Girls" and the gorgeous and slow "Ask for Answers" really hit it for me.
These guys get a 9 out of 10. Buy it if you don't have it, and play it fucking loud.
