Interactive Novel

In the middle of a castle courtyard filled with colourful plants and flowers was a large elaborate fountain. On the edge of the fountain sat a young noblewoman in flowing gown called Ada. She was dropping delicate petals into the crystal water as a warm wind blew, skimming over the water. Dusk was slowly approaching. At the other side of the courtyard a man walked alone. The ball continued on, but it had no interest to him. His mind was occupied with other things. He had bad news. Terrible news. It weighed heavily on his mind. Ada dipped her hand lightly into the flowing water and watched the petals floating among the ripples. She sighed as she pushed a lock of hair from her eyes, tucking it behind her ear. Softly, the maiden began to sing a lilting elfin song to herself as her intricately laced robes ruffled slightly in the southern breeze. Slightly further off, the man slumped onto a marble bench and hung his head in despair. Normally he had finely tuned senses, as happens when you lose one, but for the moment he was too lost in disturbing thoughts to notice the soft breathing of the maiden.
