Aconite (or Wolf's Bane)- A poisonous plant that bears a hood-shaped flower of the genus Aconitum. Aconite was used by witch's in many potions and flying ointments.
Agrimony- A yellow-flowered plant of the genus Agrimonia. A handful of leaves, fresh or dried, steeped in a pint of water, are used to cure jaundice and diseases of the liver or blood.
Amaranith A flower which never fades. It symbolizes inmmortality. It is used in charms and amulents for fame and long-life.
Anemone(or Windflower)- To cure inflammation of the eyelids, annoint them with annoitmnent made of this herb. Water obtained from boiling the leaves rains on menustration.
Angelica- A plant of genus Angelica. With edible stalks and roots that are used in potions and recipes against disease. While fasting, eat the roots candied or steeped in vinager against infection. Take water distilled from the roots and mix with wine against the common cold and lung disease.
Asparagus- Wine in which roots of asparagus were boiled help relieve toothache when held in the mouth.
Aspen- Put a leaf of this tree under a woman's tounge to cure her of dumbness.
Balm of Gilead- To cure a headache or other ailment of the head, boil the buds in fat and apply the mixture.
Basil- A common herb that draws poison from a sting wound when applied. It may be drunk as a tea against mentsral complaints and to bring on menustration.
Bayleaf- Used to aid in urination after childbirth and for nervousness and paralysis. Dry leaves in the oven and powder them.
Beet- The use of the beet is good for a headache, toothache, or an aching jaw.
Beladonna(or Deadly Nightshade)- A poisonous witch herb with black berries and dark redish leaves. The leaves were used in flying ointments. And, their stimulation of the heart and respirtory system may have attributed to the illusion of flying.
Betel- The leaf of this plant is chewed during the performance of charms in East Asia.
Betony- An herb of the mint family that is worn in an amulet to strengthen body and to protect from witchcraft and nightmares. Dried and powder or used in tea, it is good for the head and nerves.
