Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I am a big Harry Potter fan; and it's hard not to be with a sister like mine who is a gigantic Harry Potter fanatic - a sister who wishes desperately that there really was a Hogwarts; wonders what house she'd be in if there was a Hogwarts; and who spends a lot of our conversations telling me I'm just like Hermione Granger.

Like other Harry Potter fans I can't wait for J.K. Rowling's next installment in the series - the sixth book, now revealed to be titled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Rowling is set to write seven books, and so the thrill and anticipation surrounding the development of the plot has swept across Harry Potter fans worldwide as the end to the phenomenal series draws near.

So many websites have been filled with conspiracies surrounding future plot developments in the last two books (a personal favourite of mine is MuggleNet, and of course, J.K. Rowling's Official Site ). My sister, her friend and I gathered around the computer the other night and concocted all manner of conspiracies and possibilities involving the coming events in HP. Like all HP fans, we crave and thirst for even the tiniest clues to cure a minute morsel of our growing curiosity.

A recent online chat with J.K. Rowling helped MuggleNet to at least shape an idea of the possibilities of things to come. The full answers to some pretty intriguing questions (as asked by fellow HP fans) can be found here.

These are some of my personal favorite clues, as suggested by J.K. Rowling in response to her fans' questions.

When asked about whether Sirius Black would appear, and in what form, J.K.R. refused to respond directly, for fear of "incriminating" herself.

There will, reportedly, be a little romance in store for Harry, but clearly, there will not be a reunion for he and Cho Chang. According to Rowling, "They were never going to be happy, it was better that it ended early !"
(Good, if you ask me. Sorry to all those who disagree, but I never really liked Cho Chang.)

We will find out a lot more about Snape, including the reason behind Dumbledore's infinite trust in him. Oh, and just F.Y.I... Snape is not a vampire. Pity. Would have been interesting.

Rowling revealed that Professor Remus Lupin is not a full-blood wizard, but a half-blood. Could he be the half-blood prince ???

Rowling refused to comment on whether Harry's eyes (so like his mother's), will become very important to the story.

When asked if Rowling was going to write more books after Harry leaves Hogwarts, she wrote (and I quote): "Probably not, but I'll never say never because every time I do I immediately break the vow!" This indicates that maybe Harry won't die in the seventh book; as many have suggested.

There will be some development in the Hermione-Ron department
(I hope!!!) Rowling suggested some tension in Ron when asked about Hermione and Viktor Krum being a couple. (I hope, I hope, I hope they get together !!!)

Harry's scar will, (not very surprisingly) play an important role in the upcoming books.

Harry is not going to spend a lot of time with the Dursleys in the upcoming book.

Snape's Boggart and Patronus will be very important.

We will find out what Dudley saw when he faced the Dementors in Book 5.

Rowling answered, "People are always wondering who Harry is related to... maybe he is", when asked if Harry was related to Godric Griffindor.

We will find out more about Hagrid's half-brother in Book 6.
(Myself, I'm wondering whether the title 'The Half Blood Prince' is related in any way to Hagrid).

Watch this space for more updates on the Harry Potter front. Meanwhile, here are some hot Harry Potter links.
