The outside wall of the Tower of London, I took this while I was waiting in line to get in. The grassy part used to be the moat, which used to be very stinky and gross cause that where the sewage went. They tried to make the Thames flood it every day (the river is tidal here) but they built the moat too deep so water could get in but couldn't get back out again and so it stayed stinky and gross.
Inside, looking towards the entrance.
Inside looking the other direction. The guy under the stairs is a Beefeater, who have guarded the Tower since forever. No one knows why they are called Beefeaters.
The Bloody Tower where the two little princes were secretly killed by their uncle I believe. He wanted the throne and they were in the way.
Traitor's Gate. This is where the prisoners that were to be executed were brought in. Queen Elizabeth I was even brought through this gate (she was a prisoner for a while while Mary Queen of Scots was in power, its very complicated and I don't remember all of it.) You had to be pretty important to get executed at the Tower tho, common people were executed out in the street somewhere, Ann Boleyn was executed here for example. I suppose if you have to be executed, it should be in style (I guess).
