Upcoming Movies: She'll be acting in thriller City by the Sea, where she'll be teaming up once again with Robert DeNiro and the director and James Franco *drool*.
According to IMDB.com, she's also slated to be in a show called 'It Was Always Me' with Fardeen Kahn and production is to begin mid-July 2002 in New York City. However, the project hasn't been finalised yet so more updates if she'll be even acting in it at all!
Right, so what's the what on Eliza now? (13/8) Apparently, she's already starting production in Toronto on a movie called Wrong Turn, with a bunch of upandcoming newcomers... actually, the show sounds kind of cheesy, so I wonder if they'll show it in Singapore? It's about these four kids who're in the Canadian mountains being chased by three cannabilistic humans or something like that, your usual B-grade teen horror flick I guess.
She is currently also in talks to be starring in some show called The Kiss, but nothing confirmed.
Okay, looks like it's confirmed that Eliza's going to be in 'It Was Always Me' with Fardeen Kahn (whoever she is) so hopefully Eliza's got the main role...
30/08/02 - Oh my God! Okay, like anybody even reads this page except me, but Eliza has signed on for 5 read: FIVE episodes with Buffy on Season 7 and 3, THREE, episodes on WB's Angel! Yeah... this has been the best news in like, forever. Like, finally... ergh... just have to wait what... two years before it finally comes out... jeez Singapore sucks.
15/09/02 - Okay... I've mentioned it in my journal, but i'd better put it here as well, City By The Sea is coming to Singapore on 19th of September, that's pretty fast considering it opened a week ago in America! Also, the rating is PG-13... so I'll be able to watch it, but I bet the damn censorship boards cut out some good parts. I hate the Singapore censorship board.
18/09/02 - On another note, some reviews didn't mention Eliza Dushku's role, but those that did only had positive things to say about her. On rottentomatoes.com, the reviews are split practically into two, unable to decide whether CbtS was a hit or a bomb. All in all it's quite positive though, except it sounds a little on the cheesy sentimental side.
Here's a clip of a review: "Finally moving away from the teen movie parts she has had in the last few years, Eliza Dushku (2002's "The New Guy") is effective but disappears too quickly as recovering junky Gina, Joey's ex-girlfriend and the mother of his infant son, who is tempted to get back into drugs herself." themovieboy.com
and here's another great review...
"Strong supporting work is provided by George Dzundza as the stereotypical "good cop", Frances McDormand as the "girl in 3A", and William Forsythe as the conscienceless bad guy. However, the real standout is Eliza Dushku, whose powerhouse portrayal of Gina allows her to steal every scene in which she appears, including those played opposite De Niro."
