INTRODUCTION
-Drawing the Bow of Robin Hood to spear the target of Sportsmanship.

26th OCTOBER 2002 !!! It is THE DAY we are slogging out for!! No lazing around the sidewalk cafes of Bintang Walk this summer, nor bumming in GSC Mid Valley savouring the latest flicks. The NMS Games constantly looms in our heads and it is our biggest dream to make it the BEST Nottingham Malaysian Games EVER.
Sounds ambitious, huh? Especially when last year's NMS Games leaves us with almost no room to improve on. A big kudos goes out to the immortal NMS committee of 2001/02!!
So what's new this year? You notice that we have a catchy motto aka. Khavita's brainchild; DRAWING THE BOW OF ROBIN HOOD TO SPEAR THE TARGET OF SPORTSMANSHIP . Yeapz, our beloved hero ROBIN HOOD will be the main star of the NMS GAMES 2002/3!The reason is simple, Robin Hood is a symbol of love, generosity and genuine sportsmanship (when his archery skills is only comparable to Legolas from Lord of the Rings). Traditionally, for the past 16 years, the NMS Games has seen the biggest Malaysian talents from over 45 universities in UK compete in most of our events (especially when adrenaline hits the peak during SOCCER and NETBALL). It is our obssession this year to strive to the highest level of sportsmanship and thus, incorperating a little charity on the big day itself. Hence, we are proud to introduce our CHARITY FUNDRAISING CARNIVAL which will run simultaneously during the Games. This is organised in conjunction with other student societies within the Univeristy of Nottingham.... there will be FOOD,FUN and GAMES galore!! There's more to life than just sweating it out ...EXPECT FUN, FUN AND MORE FUN!!!!!!!
Last but not least,we do admit (or rather,just me..) that our inspiration owes largely to the 2002 World Cup. (minus the appalling referee decisions in several matches..) We aim for perfect organisation and most importantly, to make NMS Games an event that will leave a positive mark in everyone of your lives. As for us, we hope to leave a legacy behind.
All the more reason for YOU to attend and participate. It was part of our initial masterplan to have Roberto Carlos to grace our event. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, he may not make an appearance at all... (heck, bet I caught you there?) More realistically and keep your fingers crossed, Iker Casillas may make an appearance; that's if I successfully hook up with him during my summer holiday in Madrid......
