Final Fantasy VII is about an Ex-Shinra Solider named Cloud who decides to quit SOLDIER and become a mercinary, and ends up in a city named Midgar. Here he ends up with a team of resistant fighters called Avalanche that are against the evil
Shinra Inc. Cloud is not sure how he ended back in up in Midgar, but he knows he must help so in the begining of the game you see the rebels destroy one of the sector reactors. The reactors are like oil pumps that are sucking all of the mako out of the earth which is in turn killing the planet. Cloud soon finds out that his long time friend Tifa is one of the members of Avalanche, and also runs the bar that the team is secretly based at in the slums of Midgar.

The slums are the ghettos of Midgar, they're the forgotten areas that Shinra Inc. could care less weither or not the residents lived or dyed. So the mission of Avalanche is to destroy all the reactors in Midgar so the evil Shinra can't get anymore of the earths life force. This is the mission that the leader of Avalanche, Barret has planned and is willing to live and die for after the Shinra destroyed his home town of Coral with the reactors and (supposively) murdered his friend Dyne.

Back to the slums, not only are they run down and depressing they're filthy and full of scum. For example Don Coreno, Wallmarkets local pimp and owner of the Prostitution House "The Hunny Bee Inn".

The Story:

Later down the road Barett and the gang go to get another reactor destroyed but are ambushed by Shinra! Cloud tries to talk to President Shinra, but he flies away in a helecopter so Cloud, Barett, and Tifa are left to defend themselves against a Shinra Machine. The group destroys it but Clouds is knocked into the hole on the bridge the machine left and is dropped into the
slums of Midgar....

Fourtunately for Cloud he fell into a Church with flowers in the middle of the joint. After he collects himself he again meets Aeris, the girl in the middle of town selling Flowers. They start to talk and she introduces her Holy Materia which she says is worthless but we all know better.

The two are then RUDELY interrupeted by Reino of the Turks, him and a group of Soldiers try to apprehend Aeris, but with the assistance of Cloud they escape through the roof. later cloud finds that Tifa has been kidnaped and saves her from the Slums pimp Don Coreno by dressing up as a girl and freeing her. As the three take off to the Avalanche hideout, they are welcomed by the Shinra attack the upper plate killing half of the avalanche team: Jesse, Biggs, & Wedge. Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris join Barret in defeating Rein, but too late the plate gets destroyed and they make a death-defying swing to safety by a construction cable.

After sector 7 is destroyed Aeris is kidnapped by ther turks the group goes directly to the Shinra Building, they are kiddnapped again by the Turks (these guys are everywhere), but they are mysteriously released finding out that Sepiroth has killed president Shinra and has taken Jenvoa
for himself to rule the planet. After Cloud and company fight Rufus (The presidents son) they take off intot he wild blue yonder chasing a man in a Black cloak (Sepiroth) they hit towns like Kalm, Chocobo Billy's Ranch, Fort Condor, Junion, then to cost dela sole, to Barrets home town of Corel, which everyone despise's him for the destruction of the Corel Reactor.
Then they go to the home town of the scandalist Caith Sith where you get him. He acts like a nice guy and gives a horrorfingy insight into the death of Aeris later on. Well he joins you and from here you can play games in the game room for GP or you can bet on chocobo races for gp, your choice. After that you will enter the village of Gongaga another city in ruins thanks to Shinra, here you get Titan materia and you learn of a soilder named Zach which will be relvealed to you later on.

Now after that you all go to Nanaki's home town of Cosmo Canyon where you meet Budenhagen, and he tests your might on the boss when you fight it use a phoneix down or an X-Potion and it will die instantly because it's Zombie based monster. Anyway, after that you go to the town of Neibelheim TIfa's and Cloud's home which was thought to be destroyed 5 years ago when cloud return home on the Shinra mission. As you hunt around things get stranger so have fun.

You then enter Rocket Town where you meet Captain Cid and his marvelous Rocket, after a confrintation with Shinra the group with Cid fly off in the tiny Bronco into the wild blue yonder again. From here you can go to Bone Village, or Wutai or go on to the Temple of the Ancients.

Once you get the Lunar Harp from Bone Village and go into the Sleepy Forest and wake it up and go into the City of the Ancients you will see Aeris praying in the middle of the city. When you go up to her Sepiroth will come out of nowhere and kill her. Very sad, Cloud is heartbroken, but he gives her a proper burial.

Once you go through the little cave and through the snow field you stumble upon the Icicle Inn town, this is a nifty town check out the weapons, the bar, and dont forget to get the map out of the old climbers house you'll need it! Once you get past the Turks later on in you will snowboard out of Icicle and into the Great Glacier Area!

To make a long story (thats worth telling) short, Sepiroth summons meteor and trys to destroy the earth, but Cloud and the team shape up and go after him once and for all and kill Jenova, then Cloud and Sepiroth have a final confrontation which is totally awesome! Cloud defeats Sepiroth and then the team make a very fast get away out of the Crater that Sepiroth was hiding to watch meteor try to destroy earth.

After Cloud defeats Sepiroth the team hastely makes their way out of the north cave, escaping on a life boat ship losing the Highwind, as the crew fly over the planet they see Meteor start to destroy the earth, then they see Holy step in and interfer with Meteor but instead of eleminating it Holy assists it. Cloud and everyone starts to panic but then they see the Lifestream come in and annihilate what Meteor and Holy and saves the day thanks to lifeforce of Aeris....
