Jill Plays For Everyone

Jill Emery; The Girl Of Many Bands

A Sexuals; This was the first band that Jill was ever in. She joined sometime in the early 80's, possibly late 70's. The band was fronted by Rozz Williams, formally of the band, Christian Death. Jill was a member of this band for a fairly short amount of time, but would team up with Rozz many times later.

The Decadents; Not much is known of Jill's membership in this band, only that because of it, she was later a member of Superheroines.

Superheroines; Eva O., whom was formally of Christian Death, along with Jill's former band mate, Rozz Williams, discovered Jill while she was playing in the Decadents. The Superheroines were a goth/punk band that originated in the early 1980's in LA. After Eva saw her play, she asked Jill to join. Jill was currently working with the band, Hole, but decided to join Eva. Eva's first impression of Jill was "she has to be in my band!". Jill played bass and sang on the Superherione's 1983 album, entitled "Souls that Save", and played bass on the 1993 release "Love and Pain".

Shadow Project; After her departure from Hole, Jill joined Eva O., and the now deceased Rozz Williams, once again for the band "Shadow Project". She left the band in 1993. Alternative press said this in a review of their final release, dreams for the dying; "...even when you understand what they're doing, Shadow Project surprises with the density of their vision..".

Mazzy Star; Upon leaving Shadow Project, Jill was a touring bassist for Mazzy Star. She played bass on their 1996 release, "Among My Swan". Their music has been called, "a cross between the Cowboy Junkies and Neil Young.", as well as "a foreboding, sluggish swirl of dark sound and fragile melody...hypnotic music...as entrancing as the reflection of an ominous night sky on a lake". these reviews speak for themselves when commenting on Mazzy's obvious music style. As of now, Mazzy Star is not touring and it is unknown where Jill is at this time.
