The Introduction
From the deep recesses of outer space , comes Kam Kam , the extraterrestial cat! Hailing from Planet Zense , this lovable cat has found its way to Earth in hope of understanding the animal they call 'man '!!
Upon arrival on planet Earth , Kam kam was immediately received by the Vampire Azizah and now works as her part time reviewer however there are obstacles... for Kam Kam has to contend with Vampire Azizah's other reviewers as well.They will be featured here sometimes when Kam Kam calls in sick.
It was tough choosing a video and a cd for the review this month as i had a couple which i really would like to put up. Nonetheless , i have made my choice. This month's reviews would be of Ryuichi Kawamura's 'Time of Legend' video and Lareine's 'The Last of Romance'! Let the reviews BEGIN!!
Disc 1
As for Disc 2 , it contains many songs with Japanese titles so i am not able to translate them~~ DOH!! >_<
As the picture of the video is unavailable i shall provide you with a picture of Ryuichi Kawamura . The picture is however taken during a very early part of Ryuichi's career . Back when he was with Luna Sea. He looks nothing like this now. I am putting up this picture because i happen to like Visual Ryuichi! ^_^
THE REVIEWS
Yet another ex Luna Sea member related review. This time the focus would be on Ryuichi Kawamura(ex-vocalist of Luna Sea). While J is all punk and hard rock , Ryuichi has taken on the pop scene.
Time of Legend encompasses past performances as in those from his 1997 solo career and also current performances. As such , you will get to see new songs as well as old songs being performed!
Ryuichi's passionate singing and his undomitable stage presence will leave everyone breathless . Each song performed with such finesse that will no doubt leave you wanting more!
One thing though that had me cring into the corner would be this short clip of Ryuichi practising his boxing and breathing a little too hard for his own good while facing the camera. It may be appealing to some but for this extraterrestial cat , let's leave the exagerrations at home , thank you very much!
Unfortunately , it is right at the beginning of the 1st disc , so just skip that and you'll be off to about and hour or two of pure entertainment!
THE REVIEWS
Do not be fooled into thinking that Lareine's "The Last of Romance" offers only a range of mellow rock songs.You couldn't be further away from the truth! The songs featured in this album were mainly from their 1999 and 2000 works. For instance , the song Je t'aime was from 1999 whilst Pink no Kasa was recorded only in 2000.
Overall , this album showcases Lareine's amazing abilty to delve into the different genres of music such as pop and rock. The fact that they were able to pull this off so effortlessly only further reinforce this.
After a narration by John North Geron on track 1 , "The World of Romance" , Lareine exploded into a fast rock number on track 2 followed by a Latin sounding pop rock tune on track 3.
Following 2 interludes at track 6 and 7 , Lareine brings us to the pop section of the albums. Pop fans would not be disappointed with the happy pop tunes of Pink no kasa and Paris wa akiiro.
The Last of Romance offers a diversity of songs that would satisfy rock lovers as well as pop fans. There is a little something for everyone to enjoy in this album!! Highly recommended!
That's it for the month of November . As yet , i have not chosen my prospective candidates for next month's reviews. However I assure you that it will definitely be INCREDIBLE!! So be sure to look out for it!!
