The show itself was fantastic. The Boys really outdid themselves and I was proud to be a fan. Kathy was at awe. Her eyes never left Nicky for a minute while mine stayed mostly on AJ. I watched Brian a little bit simply because he was just so adorable. Married life suits him. Anyway, the concert was entertaining but in the back of my mind, all I could think about was Krystal. How she spoke, how she sang, and even how she smelled. I was so engrossed in thought that I didn't even hear Kathy calling my name to get moving to get our truck.

"Hills, we better get going girl. This crowd is gonna take forever to get out of the parking lot."

"OK." I walked behind Kathy thinking about my first encounter with Krystal.

'She is simply gorgeous,' I thought to myself. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the slip of paper that she signed and opened it up.

Dear Hills,

Thanks for the compliment. It's not everyday a cute woman like yourself says something like that to me. I'm at the Hilton over in Hotel Circle. My room number is 2976. Please give me a call or come by. I would really love to get to know you better.

Waiting for you,
Kystal

My heart nearly jumped in my throat! A plethora of emotions swarmed me as I reread the note until it became one big blurry mass. I began to walk faster hoping it would get me to my goal sooner when I bumped into Kathy.

"Hey! What the rush, Gus! You ok, Hills?"

"She wrote me a note. Krystal wrote me a note," I said in an inaudible whisper.

"Say that again? I can't quite hear you. There are about 50,000 people screaming and shit around here," said Kathy.

"Krystal wrote me a note."

"Well isn't that what she was supposed to do? You're silly!"

"No Kathy. She wrote ME a note. A private note."

"Lemme see," she said as she grabbed the paper out of my hand. She read the note for what seemed like forever until finally she raised her head and smiled. "So she wants to see you, huh? Are you gonna call her or go to her?"

"I haven't thought about that one. Maybe I should call her. I don't want to seem too forward. Besides, it's late. She would be to tired for company."

"All right, we better get going then," said Kathy and took off running towards the truck. I kept close behind her eagerly awaiting a chance to talk to the girl of my dreams again.

We finally reached our hotel room and plopped down for a breather. I was anxious but I didn't want to call her and seem like I was as silly as I felt. I took out the paper in my pocket and stared at it for the longest time.

"Well, are you gonna call her or what," asked Kathy.

"I'll call her. Give me some time, girl. Jeez!"

Kathy laughed then. She knew I was nervous. More nervous than I have ever been before. This was a chance of a lifetime and I didn't want to blow it because or stupidity. I looked at Kathy then at the phone. I picked it up and dialed the operator.

"Hello. May I be connected tot he Hilton in hotel circle, please? Thank you." The phone rang a couple of times and then the front desk person answered. "Room 2976 please. Thank you."

Kathy gave me this weird look. I gave it back.

"She didn't have a code name or anything," she asked.

"I guess not," I whispered back. Soon the phone was ringing again and then the sweetest voice God ever created spoke.

"Hello?" It said.

"Hello, may I speak to Krystal, please?"

"Speaking. Is this Hills?"

"Yeah, it is. How are you?"

"Good now that you called. I was worried that you wouldn't."

I couldn't believe my ears. A girl as beautiful as her shouldn't have to worry about some low life like me not calling her. I felt flattered. We talked for a bit. Not about much, really. Mostly about how she got involved with the music business and things like that. Casual stuff, you know. I wanted to see her again though.

"Hey, do you have time to go get a bite to eat with me," I asked her.

"Yeah. The restaurant downstairs is still open I think. Meet me down there in about an hour. Is that cool?" she asked.

"Sounds good to me," I said grinning ear to ear. Kathy just gave me a look of mock disgust. I laughed then.

"What's so funny?" asked Krystal.

"My roommate's face. She is being silly. I'm sorry."

"Oh it's cool. Thought it was something I said. I'll see you in an hour, ok?"

"Ok. In one hour. Till then, cherie." I hung up the phone and then went into a fit of giggles that would have awaken the whole city.

"I know I did not just hear you call that girl, cherie. You are a real goober," laughed Kathy.

"Yeah well, this goober has a date tonight so help me pick out some clothes to wear.
