Going back FORTY years is a real challenge for me so I hope that I can remember enough to make this a little interesting. As I always say, I am not the writer in our family---once I was able to get Larry to compose the Christmas letters, he became the designated writer.

The first three months after graduation turned out to be challenging to say the least - in June the house that my parents and I were living in was hit by a tornado during the night and it was so badly damaged that we had to move out; in July my grandmother died and then in August a really, really great event happened--I married Larry Silverberg.

Larry was already living in Denver working for United Air Lines and so Denver became my home too. We have lived here since then except three years, from 1967 to 1970 when we were transferred to the Chicago area. The best part of Illinois were the few visits we had with Peggy since she lived not too far from us.

We have three children--Rob born in 1963, Rick born in 1967 and LeeSanne born in 1970. LeeSanne is from Vietnam and I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Saigon to pick her and my nephew up in September of 1971---just one month before she turned one year old. Rob lives in Denver and also works for United Air Lines as a customer service representative. Rick and Amy and our grandson, Strydr, live in Cedaredge which is about sixty miles from Grand Junction. Amy is a special ed teacher in Delta, Rick is the golf course superintendent in Cedaredge and Strydr is a great one year kid. LeeSanne lives in Denver and is a programmer for Boston Market, or "McChicken", as she calls it now that McDonalds has taken them over.

I worked briefly for the old Ma Bell when I first came to Denver, then for a title company and then stayed home with our children until they were in school. That turned out to be fifteen years since they are fairly well spread out. During those fifteen years, I managed to pick up some college at Metro State and then returned to the work force in 1978. I worked for an accountant in a small firm for twenty years, leaving when I just couldn't stand "tax season" and the drive (thirteen miles each way) after moving into our present home. Traffic is just a disaster as far as I am concerned!!

After leaving that job, I took a little break for a couple of months and then was ready to find a new job. I am now working as a bookkeeper for an investor who has numerous companies. It has been a challenge since I had the routine down at the other place and just kind of had to invent one where I am at now. I also made sure this job was close to home.

Larry is still working at United Air Lines as a computer security specialist. He has forty-one years with them and will retire within the next two years.

| If we could just make up our minds as to where we want to live, etc.!!!! As you know, Larry has melanoma. He was diagnoised in 1998 when a mole on his stomach was removed. He discovered a lump under his arm in March of 1999 which was also melanoma. We were fortunate in being referred to the melanoma clinic at University Hospital where they took a very agressive approach and treated him with bio-chemotherapy. This was part of a clinical trial which has proven to be one of the few treatments to be effective against this type of cancer. |

It was a rough summer last year as the treatments took five months. He is doing great now but I still sweat the checkups. We appreciate all of the words of encouragement, prayers, e-mails, etc., that we received from all of you last summer. You can't begin to know how much they helped us!! Thanks!!!

Larry and I took up golf a few years ago and enjoy playing with friends or by ourselves. I "suck" but still have a good time trying!! We also enjoy riding bicycles, attending the theatre and working in our yard.

We look forward to the reunion and seeing all of you. It has been a while since we were in Julesburg.
