Bernard served our country in the United States Army from July 26, 1949 - July 26, 1953. He served for three years in Japan and for 18 months in Korea with the 3rd Army Division. He was awarded an Occupation of Japan medal, U.N. Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and an Honorable Discharge Medal.
