REVIEW:
KALASHNIKOV AK 47

AK 47

LENGHT: 870mm
WEIGHT:
2900g
AMM CAP.:
70/600
ROF.:
ca 850rpm

APPEARENCE:
Everyone has seen AK47´s in countless movies, so we all know what it is supposed to look like. Still something that surprised me a bit, was the size of the rifle. It is smaller than I thought and actually feels very agile to carry and move around with. In the films they always seem bigger. I attribute this to the fact that the stock is pretty short, which makes you hold the rifle closer to the body than eg the G3 series. The gun is impressivly well made, this is the most "real looking" AEG I have seen as of yet. There are lots of metal parts on this gun, in fact I think the only plastic part is the lower part of the receiver. (and the fake wood furniture of course!)
The wood parts (stock and grips) are fake, but they look extremely good.
There is nothing about the appearence of the gun that really bugs me, but the least attractive piece is the ejection port cover/manouver handle. It just doesn´t look as great as everything else.

FUNCTION:
The AK47 is comfy to hold, although the stock is a bit to short for my liking. There are no sharp edges that dig in to your hands or fingers like on some other popular SMGs and rifles. It is well balaced as well, despite the big metal barrel and sight assembly.  The large clips lock in to place firmly and are quick to remove and insert.

Setting the gun to semi and firing produces far less motor/gear sound than any of the other guns I´ve fired. The BB sails away around 40 meters depending on BB weight and HopUp setting. The real purpose of an automatic electric gun is obviously FULL AUTO:)
This gun has a high ROF, and it is always cool to see pieces of bark fly when you light up some tree!
Full auto- it´s fantastic!

The gun has decent target hitting qualities, but it´s no thanks to the (in my opinion) weired sights, which I can´t seem to adjust sideways...

The battery used is a large type stored in the stock. On the AK47S with folding stock, the battery is a stick type housed in the top of the receiver, and on the full stock AK this space is empty and can be filled with something heavy to add some extra weight for realism.

Overall the gun preforms very well and in some areas a bit better than it´s rival assault rifles.

The addition of a screw on Tracer unit changes the look of the AK47 drastically. It also changes the firing sound noticably.

I like this gun for other reasons than I like most others. This one is simply a classic, and while many players like the advanced tech look, this is a nice break from the conformity! If you like big brutal assault rifles then this model won´t dissapoint you. Of course, it´s an aquired taste...
