Quite often I am contacted about doing research here in Sumter for those living out of state. I spend much of my spare time working on the Old Sumter District Web pages, transcribing old newspaper, and when I acutally get a chance to do genealogy, I only have the time to work my own family lines. Thus, I am asked for the name of someone who would be willing to do local research. I am listing the names of a few local researchers here as a service to those living out of town and out of state. The folks listed below, live in the area, and are well-known in Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee Counties' genealogical/historical communities.
