Local Sumter District Researchers

Quite often I am contacted about doing research here in Sumter for those living out of state. I spend much of my spare time working on the Old Sumter District Web pages, transcribing old newspaper, and when I acutally get a chance to do genealogy, I only have the time to work my own family lines. Thus, I am asked for the name of someone who would be willing to do local research. I am listing the names of a few local researchers here as a service to those living out of town and out of state. The folks listed below, live in the area, and are well-known in Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee Counties' genealogical/historical communities. When the word went out about the need to list local researchers on this reference page, they contacted me and let me know that they do research for other people.

THIS LISTING OF LOCAL RESEARCHERS IS PROVIDED AS A FAVOR TO THOSE WHO NEED SUCH INFORMATION. THE MENTION OF A LOCAL RESEARCHER IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THEIR WORK.

IN GENEALOGY AND HISTORICAL RESEARCH, THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES AS TO WHAT WILL BE FOUND WITHIN IN ANY GIVEN TIME FRAME.
