Part FIVE

At this time I want to thank you for sharing this little venture with me! As you can see, 2008 has been an incredible year for weather-watchers, and here in the Northeast the summer was cooler than normal (in other words, very pleasant!), and perfect conditions for some beautiful weather observations, as seen here! On this page you will see a few more..... and ending with perhaps one of the very BEST!

Here's a warm front approaching right at sundown. The "dark" area quickly approached beneath the actual front (the clouds lit by the sun) and gave us a light shower.

I still get some childhood memories at times, from looking at the clouds and seeing shapes..... such as this giant "teddy bear", which in reality is an approaching storm ahead of a cold front.

Here's a look at the very edge of tropical storm Hanna, as it came near enough to create a spectacular display, as seen here from St. Augustine Beach, Florida.

Here's a towering thunderstorm, with the camp nature center (in the woods, with my white truck) in the picture, and in fact, many of the pictures throughout these pages were taken while standing in this field!

As promised, here's one of the most spectacular of ALL! This was taken the day of our "staff outing" at the beginning of our camp season near Scranton, Pennsylvania, and surprisingly no rain fell from this.
