New Kitten in the Family!
Mood:  celebratory
There's a new kitten in the family. He's a Himalayan like me -- a flame point Himalayan, even! Due to allergies between cats and humans, Myst came to live with us.

Even though he was much-loved, Myst was having bad eye problems and dietary reactions in the young girl's house that they could not seem to work around. Her husband was more allergic to Myst than other cats. Myst needed a special diet and especially needed a human home during the day to watch him.

It was hard for the young girl to give him up but she realized it was best if Myst came to live with us. Myst may have even been allergic to Lucky. After 10 days with us, it was apparent that Myst would do better. Not only that, but I am very, very happy to have a friend like Myst. I am gentle and careful with him as he is with me.

I do not sit around bored and crying out my boredom to the parents as much as I used to. Instead, I walk around with Myst and we play. Myst is happy, too. Everything is working out well.

Alas, the young girl and guy missed Myst even though they had Lucky, their other cat. Lucky missed his playmate, too, although Myst had been feeling so listless that he mostly hid under the bed all day. The mother felt sorry for her humans and offered them as slaves to another kitten, a purebred Himalayan! The mother says Himalayans are her favorite kind of cat (although she loves all cats).

The new flame-point Himalayan boy does not have a name yet. The young girl and guy want to watch him and see what name fits. He is a tough little guy, climbing all over everything and vocalizing a lot, as I do. Maybe those are Himalayan traits. We have both Siamese and Persian blood in us. It explains a lot.

Now, my family is much bigger. Over here is Dandelion, Myst and me. Over at the young girl's is Lucky and the new kitten. I'll be posting about them all from time to time.

Here are some more pictures of the new kitten: New Kitten 1 and New Kitten 2.

That is the most adorable kitten I've seen in a long while!

The Random Wife insists that we have to keep the dog, so i can't get another kitten until we move to a place with a back yard. All I can do these days is look at other peoples' cats and sigh. That and write stories about cats. (Warning: My current story is a bit of a tear-jerker.)

I guess that's just more incentive for me to work hard for a promotion!

In my opinion, a home can not have too many cats -- well, maybe it can. I want the humans all to myself. A backyard would be great fun. Hope you can find a good place with a backyard.
