History: Mith as they were called, were a highly secretive cadre of warriors and protectors in service of the Great Realm. Dating back over three hundred centuries, to the time of the Ancient Ones, the Mith were guardians of the sacred steels bestowed with powers by the Ancients. They were charged with the full knowledge of the Ten Swords of the Ancients and they alone knew of the swords’ powers and lore. It was the duty of the Mith to keep order and balance in Ammon by directing the use of the known swords, and keeping secret the unknown ones. Each sword required counterbalance by it’s opposite. When a sword of power appeared and was used to shift the balance of Ammon, the Mith, through careful counsel and deliberation, would seek the opposing sword and release it into the world. They alone were also responsible for recovering and protecting any sword that fell from its master’s hand at the edge of another. The Mith understood the mystery and power of steel.

Mithrodin temples numbered in the hundreds and were spread across Ammon in each of the Great Realms. Only a select few were ever admitted to their ranks and even fewer passed the rigorous training, which lasted several years. They were masters of the mental and physical arts of combat. At the completion of each level of training, the Mith tattooed a portion of their bodies in sacred designs of the Ancients, thus the highly skilled were adorned the most. The chosen weapon of the Mith was the Valdris, a double bladed sword of strange design. The hilt of the Valdris, like many weapons of the Great Realm, was fashioned from the bones and armor of Baelin, great brutal and ruthless beasts created by the Dark One for his Black Legion. Its twin blades, forged of extraordinary Elvish steel from the mines of Lokonia, were designed for the intricate blocking and offensive fighting style the Mithrodin used in combat. Only they could wield the Valdris properly and many were skilled at using two at one time, honing the mind and flesh to become one with the blades. A high level Mithrodin could disarm and subdue an enemy with this weapon at lightening speed; or destroy with the same precision.

During the Shadow Wars, the Mith fought the Black Legion for control of Ammon. Marcus was fully trained by this time, and accounted for more than three hundred Black Legion warriors, all killed in hand-to-hand combat. All ten swords had been revealed and used in this devastating war, which covered, not only common land but time, space, and dimensions. This war lasted many years, as both sides flip-flopped back and forth, one trying to best other. In the end, the Mithrodin were victorious, but the swords had been scattered. Several specially-chosen Miths were sent on quests to find and reacquire them. Marcus was one such Mith.

Marcus found himself on Earth, The Ancients guiding him there. It was said two of the swords had been hidden on this world. He had located one buried within the circle of the Stonehenge Rocks in England. Valermos, the Sword of Fire. This magical weapon gives the believing-welder the ability to command the minds of wildlife for short periods of time, and also to create and control fires.

In his search for the weapon, Marcus ran into a beautiful black-haired maiden, Lady Victoria LaFontaine. She made his heart beat harder, adrenaline rush faster, and for awhile, took him off his destiny’s path. They became lovers, forgetting everything but each other. Unfortunately, within a short period of time, this black-haired beauty revealed her true self, when she went into a frenzy, and attacked Marcus violently to his utter shock and surprise. She was a vampire, and she wanted him for an eternal mate. In the Grand Hall of the LaFontaine Castle, she embraced Marcus.

Marcus immediately left Lady Victoria’s side, disgusted in her actions. However, he could not stay away long. They had a connection; the Embrace binding them together. He returns to her side frequently, but as Marcus revealed to her later, his Mith soul had survived.

Victoria later revealed that she had a twin sister, Destiny LaFontaine, who was the actual vampire who attacked Marcus. Due to certain circumstances, Marcus has put a delay all getting his revenge.

Marcus is frequently wracked with pain into unconsciousness, as his Mith soul and demon soul engage in internal battle to win possession of the body. Though he still possesses the strength and knowledge of a Mithrodin, he has been ‘modified’ with that of a vampire’s strength and weaknesses. Due to this fact, Marcus is twice as strong as any vampire or Mithrodin. His first kill was nothing spectacular, Marcus not realizing the importance of the occasion. It was that of a participant of a local car show, the owner of a polished, black 1969 Dodge Charger, which Marcus took on, as his transportation while on this world, to blend in as best he can.

While following a lead for the second sword in Prague, Marcus stumbled upon a talisman, forged by the First Vampire, Lilith. Being in possession of the talisman gives Marcus the ability to walk by day for short periods of time.

The Dark One, leader and creator of Black Legion warriors, has also sent chosen ones to recover the weapons, so that he may continue the fight. Marcus has battled more than a few Legion warriors on Earth, as they make chance encounters with each other, instantly realizing who the other is. In some those fights, Marcus has had to rely on Earth-made weaponry, such as bullet-firing automatic weapons, which he finds fascinating, the mechanics of the weaponry rattling in his hands, as he blazes away.

With his life as part vampire/part Mithrodin, Marcus has created his own path. However, this has angered The Ancients. He knows that other Mithrodins will be sent after him, to bring him back into the fold, or throw him in the dungeons as a traitor if he refuses. With the Black Legion warriors still hunting him, regardless of his new views of exsistence, life has gotten much more interesting.
