THE ACHING HEART

The human heart is a complicated thing;

It beats with a rhythm, pumping blood with a zing. The heart is an organ, our lifeline in fact; It keeps us alive by performing its act.

Sometimes through sickness the heart feels so bad; Then when health returns the heart is made glad. Through doctors and medicine there’s help for the heart; If it’s aching from sickness medicine can help that part.

But oh the ache from a broken heart! How do you ever fix that part? There’s no medicine to soothe the pain; Of a heart that’s aching from life’s rain.

What causes a human heart to break? What causes such extreme heartache? It could be a spouse loosing the love of a mate; How can that ache mend after such a fate.

The aching heart could be the lost love; Of grandchildren you have thought the world of. Your love for them is so very great; So when it’s no longer returned it makes your heart break.

Or what about this person you know; That you have considered a friend since long ago. Suddenly they turn their back on you; And you find yourself discarded like and old shoe.

How the heart aches, it’s like no other; When you realize you don’t have the love of your sister and brother. You have the same father and the same mother; So you wonder why each can’t have love for the other.

It could be the death of your precious child; One you have had for quite awhile. There is no explaining how you feel; No explaining the ache that is so real.

There’s also another way to lose a child; Even though you have loved them all this while. Some of them grow up and chooses no longer to respect and love; That parent who would lay down their life for this child given from God above.

God gives us a heart to feel His love; Love He freely gives from Heaven above. When the aching heart is not from sickness but from things in life; God can give us peace and comfort from this strife.

So when your heart aches remember one thing; The peace in your life that God can bring. The aching heart will slowly disappear; As you look to your loving God without any fear.
