On
Storytelling Guilds |
| On the one hand,
there is, here, you – the Storyteller … whether you are apprentice
or journeyman … or, perhaps, you are a novice, an aspirant to
Storytelling, only …. Perhaps
you are a magus. Nevertheless,
here you are . … and? |
| On the other hand,
there is there The International Brotherhood of Storytellers. Or Sisterhood … an Invisible College, a White Lodge … an
ancient Conspiracy whose purpose it is to afford a touchstone to measure
the quality of your art … to determine your worthiness
for membership. The
rewards? The highest honours … the respect of your peers … the
finest gigs … richest fees and, most importantly … the best stories
– |
| Or not. |
|
Nevertheless, you
are the Storyteller. And you are not
alone … there are hundreds of you – just in Illinois.
Thousands across the United States.
And more – many more – throughout the entire world.
And? … if everyone has his or her story to tell … who
can begin to count? The
closest thing, however, to an Intergalactic Federation of Storytellers
must be the STORYTELL listserv. |
"There are two ways of getting home; and one of them is to stay there. The other is to walk around the whole world till we come back to the same place ..."
G. K. Chesterton
