Regardless
of what your feelings may be about America's war in Iraq, about the
voices of dissent against the representatives of the US and the
political policies involved in this conflict - the desire for peace is
at the heart of most Americans. It is inherent in the rhetoric that
politicians use to justify this conflict, present at the protests in
cities across the country and part of every beauty pageant ever held.
Peace, like its conceptual sibling freedom, is laden with paradox.
Mythic Heritage is not the forum to explore these philosophical
quandaries or to investigate the issues surrounding this conflict,
however, the notion of peace as reflected in the telling of stories is…
