CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND SENATORS
If you want the president to be elected by the people, the Constitution must be amended. Congress can start the process but they will not do anything until Americans in large numbers demand to have each and every vote count equally in the presidential election. Write, call, or email your representative and senators regularly to tell them that: you want the right to have your vote count in the presidential election; the Electoral College should be eliminated; and that direct election by the people is the only way to ensure that every American's vote is counted equally.
IF YOU ARE A DEMOCRAT
Write, call, or email the Democratic National Committee in Washington,DC. Identify yourself a as democrat and tell them how upset you are about having a president who lost the election. Let them know that you want the right to vote directly for president. Insist that the National Party adopt a position that calls for a Constitutional Amendment to eliminate the Electoral College and replace it with the direct election of the president by the people.
CONTACT YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES
Under the Constitution, the state legislatures can initiate the Constitutional Amendment process. Contact your state representatives and deliver the same message that you delivered to Congress.
