The 1st International Symposium on Bio-Inspired Computing being organized by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information System, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

We look forward to your participation in our program. Over 100 attendees will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas about research and development on the area of bio-inspired computing.

Introduction

Artificial Immune Systems and Immunoinformatics are naïve and potential areas of research, which are bridging computational sciences and immunology. It is the best time for researchers for opting this challenging interdisciplinary research and development.

A Soft Computing Research Group at Faculty of Computer Science & Information System has been established in year 2000, from the advancement of understanding in computational intelligence like Artificial Neural Network, Fade System, Evolutionary Algorithm, Rough Set, and Probabilty Prediction.

After that, on 2002, the Group on Artificial Immune Systems and Security (GAINS) was established for pioneering AIS research in Malaysia. Now this group has reasonable base for conducting effective activities in the field and bringing together computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists, engineers, biotechnologists, biologist, immunologists, and bioinformatics researchers on one platform for well organized and useful future research. BIC '05 is a symposium that will serve the purpose.
