TDC VIII Random Thoughts 2002

Rosenblatt is a champ again this is getting outta hand... TDC VII Random Thoughts 2001

(1) It took Pool A (Wolf/Rombro, Kraft/Ted Minkove/Minkove) three rounds (six games per team) to determine who would advance to the second day. In the end it was the survival of the fittest as I (Jon Minkove) had nothing left in the tank to pull out the elusive victory.

(2) The what if question was buzzing at the wolf's today as players pondered what would have been had Neuman not broken his wrist. Michael Neuman sustained the injury in the middle of his team's second victory on day one. Neuman and teammate Noam Weisman were the only team to defeat the champs (until a meaningless game 4 of the finals) and a rematch could have been extremely entertaining.

(3) Tournament rookies such as Guts and Spiegler seemed elated to join the TDC family and it is wonderful that we were able to expand to bring in such new guys.

(4) The consensus seems to be that TDC VII was the most well organized and successful tournament ever. To this we owe a debt of gratitude to Commissioner Ewing (Ariel Wolf).
