Florin
Paul was
born in Romania in 1958. As a child he was taught the violin and the piano,
and from a very early age he showed an exceptional talent for both. When
he was eleven years old he was awarded the first prize in the National
Music Competition.
In 1975 he commenced his studies in Bucharest under Professor Stefan Gheorghiu,
under whose guidance he received international acclaim.
He was awarded the Grand Prix Jacques Thibauld in Paris in 1977 and the
first Niccolo Paganini prize in Genoa in 1979.
In 1982 Florin Paul settled in Germany, where he completed his musical
education.
After
receiving his degree with distinctions as a soloist under Professor Wolfgang
Marschner in Freiburg in 1983, he attained other top awards(L.Spohr in
Freiburg in 1983, Tibor Varga in Sion in 1984 and the Yehudi Menuhin prize
in Paris in 1985)and became increasingly occupied with concert appereances
which led to radio and record recordings and numerous solo appereances
with philharmonic and chamber orchestra from Bucharest, Bratislava, Paris,
Metz, Sttutgart, Munich, Lausane and Nice, to name but some.
In recent years Florin Paul has concerted his energies on further increasing
his repertoire of chambers music, as is shown for example by his appereance
at the 1988 Macao festival with the ten Beethoven sonatas. On several occasions
he has performed the Bach Double Concerto together with Henryk Szeryng.
Since 1994 Florin Paul is first concert-master in the famous Hamburg Radio

Iasi and Botosani.
